In Yuma, Arizona, a $2,500 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or people involved in the torture and killing of a shepherd mix last week. The dog, most likely a stray, was found dead on a canal bank with baling wire around her neck and the Humane Society of Yuma said that she was sodomized with a crutch. The reward comes from local donors and the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the animal cruelty case as a felony. If you have any information, please call the Humane Society of Yuma at (928) 782-1621, Ext. 106.

death is too lenient a sentence for a monster like this.

That is the stuff of nightmares. I keep thinking of “an eye for an eye.” Someone that deranged probably had deranged witnesses/participants there that will rat him out in a second. I hope they get an animal lover prosecutor and judge on that case. Plea bargaining should not be allowed.

I had to stop watching the animal rescue programs on the Animal Planet because I could not take the pain. That was just watching.

I always refer people to all-creatures.org which has the most complete gallery of animal cruelty, which extends to farm animals too. They beg for mercy for these innocents

Regardless of whether we are vegetarians or meat eaters, animals deserve a decent life and lifespan while they live. If they are to be eaten, they deserve a humane end.

And I do not care if an animal is wild, a pet, or destined for supper. Anyone who abuses any animal like this poor victim is a threat to society as great as anyone who abuses a human being.

I would put them away with the same number of years that would be given for the same abuse to humans.

They should be listed on the sex offender registries and banned from school areas and certain jobs.

They should be banned from animal ownership period.

In my world someone who committed a crime like this would get the death penalty, which is a more humane death than given the victim.

This is disgusting. The person who did this will probably end up doing much worse things if he/she is not caught & punished. Cruelty like this indictates the sick mind of a dangerous individual with no respect for life. Hopefully, this person (or persons) will be caught & punished to the full extent of the law.

This article has been bothering me all day. Since the people who do this have such a high recidivism rate (like sexual predators), I want to ask for an animal abuser registry. I sure wouldn’t want my daughter to find out the hard way she was dating one.

I hope they catch the sob and it goes before the state courts rather than municiple. We have a state atty who specializes in animal cruelty cases. He just loves to nail these jerks to the wall.

What a sad day … two horrible cases have come to light.
The other one happened here in N.Z., in South Auckland, where a poor emaciated (”walking skeleton” the SPCA called it) mastiff x was hung from a tree and left to die an agonizing death.
