Please keep us updated on where the marches will take place…

Well, I thought there was a Chicago march, because I went to the KOPS link. Sent an email, but got no response I guess it’s not happening. I would like to thank those who tried, and I hope it’s a success elsewhere.

I think the recent VA Tech took some starch out of the cause. Why is there not one for Seatlle - Itchmo?

Some cities had a hard time with red tape and permits. Most likely that is what happened to Chicago. Here in Portland I only JUST got a permit to march. All it took was a phone call and an email, and my biz insuarnce. Our fine city was very accommodating.
I also learned that here you do not need permit to march for less than 25 people, so it may be possible for anyone to still march anywhere they choose. You may want to think about small marches scattered through out your cities.
I know that marches will not solve anything, yet at the same time, the bigger the better.
There are many cities still pending, and Chicago may still be one of them, but Jen had to come up with the ones that were finalized for the press.

Nancy, where is there one in Portland Maine? I was thinking of going to the Boston one, but may change my mind and go to the Portland one. That way, I can go to Planet Dog afterwards. I’ve always wanted to go to that store.

There has been no media coverage of the march in Austin, TX. When I tried to find out more last week it seemed to be on again off again on again. It will be hard to have any impact if people don’t know about it and don’t show up.

The one myspace group related to this has very few members and seems restricted to people who have had a pet die. Are there any myspace groups for the pet owners of animals that are still alive? The bulletin feature of that site is a fantastic tool for notifying alot of people of what is going on.

The march is on the back cove. It is not far from down town. It will be Preble Steet to Baxter Blvd-Nancy

  9. nancy says:

Hey NH-Planet Dog is on marginal way which intersects with Preble-They are very close to the walk.nancy

  11. Chris says:

Are there any marches planned for the Swattle area? If not can anyone give me a ride to the one in ORE? I lost both my Bouviers, Belle and Boogie to the dog biscuit recall and their cat is being tested. I am devastated. I can’t even afford to rescue a dog at the humane society right now. I want to be part of this March. My two big girls didn’t deserve this!

Both KOPS and PNVT list marches in New Jersey. New Jersey’s a sizable state! Where exactly in N.J. is the march supposed to take place? I don’t understand how a march can be confirmed or even listed as “pending” w/o mentioning “Contact So-and-So For More Information About This Particular March”? Sadly, it adds frustration to the already highly frustrating reason for having marches in the first place.

  14. Randi H says:

Although there is nothing listed in my area (Cleveland Ohio), I am wearing a ribbon today, tomorrow and sunday in honor of all the companion animals who lost their lives or were made ill by the tainted foods.

Please anyone going to the march from the Seattle area, I am in Suquamish and I need a ride. I lost both my girls Belle and Boogie, and am waiting on test results for my cat Beaser. I have my postcards ready but I need to attend this march. MY GIRLS COUNT!
