We just started to take our 2 dogs to Hillcrest Park.
I was a bit weary at first: One of our dogs is a puppy and was very aggressive/possesive in puppy socialization classes. Our other dog is 7 years old and we adopted him last summer from a Shelter so I wasn't sure how he would be around other dogs.
But they both do great and have a good time running about off thier leashes.
The people are always friendly too.
It's a great place!

I took my two dogs to Hillcrest dog park and on my second visit my elderly dog (he is 15 1/2 now, but was probably about 13-14 then) was attacked by a pitbull. We were just about to walk out of the gate when the dog ran up and jumped on him and started bitting his neck. The owner did nothing to stop her dog and I risked life and limb to pry her mutt off of mine (who was cowering on the ground under her dog)twice. There was a policeman there by coincidence and I had him take him take her info and rushed to the vet to get his neck stapled up. I contacted the lady asking kindly if she'd pay for the vet bills she caused, but she blamed it on my dog (the NERVE!) and called the cops to tell me I was not allowed to contact her unless I was taking her to court. I don't recommend this place to anyone who cherishes their dog. Especially if you run into a Mary Elizabeth Brouwer and her dog Blizzard, as they are the ones responsible for my dog's injuries.

Hey! that dog park is right near my house, I didn't even know it was there (though I don't have a dog either so... maybe that is why)

We just love these dog park articles. Our home town sorely lacks dog parks in numbers. Two dog parks within a 30 mile radius is sad. And they both require memberships, which I have no problem with. One park membership is only good until Dec 31 each year no matter what time of year you pay the "annual fee". The other park is good for 12 months annual, but that dog park is outside of the city limits and quite a drive.....
