Pukanuba,

I can relate... same problem over here. Told somebody about this a couple of weeks ago who is regularly feeding their dog chicken jerky strips from China. They feel the treats are just fine and will contiue feeding without hesitation because their dogs are not sick and there is no information on the FDA website. So when the AVMA and ACVIM issued offical statements about this, I was trilled I had something more 'official' (agency) to present to this person than the Itchmo News, TV News reports and newspaper articles, blogs, ETC, ETC. Well, they never heard of the AVMA and could care less... go figure ...

It seems that the AVMA is holding back until Wal-Mart or the PFI tells them what to say next. Just like a puppet on a string.

They should be more concern with pets getting sick or dying eating this crap. Nothing like taking a stand on issues that concern the safety of pets.

Pukanuba said: All I can say is I warned those I know who have dogs……if anything happened to any of these dogs, I would feel personally responsible. Now I’ve done my part.

Why people seem so anxious to trust what they hear & read is beyond me. And their loyalty to the PF companies makes me want to puke. When it comes to my dog, I’d rather be safe than sorry & trusting them is a thing of the past. Perhaps my priorities are screwed up but that’s the way it is & the way it will stay.
.........................

Good for you, Pukanuba! You did all you could, and that's all we can do -- keep warning and talking and writing and testing products to get the word out. Sooner or later, the masses WILL realize what we've been saying and proving and will refuse to buy.

This story of Walmart threatening legal action against Expertox and consumeraffairsdotcom over the toxic pet toy results can ONLY bring MORE ATTENTION TO THE TOXIC TOYS AND PET FOOD ISSUES that we want front page and center, so it will do the cause good.

Is it time for all of us here to launch a media blitz to send this story to CNN, MSN, Fox, and major print media outlets?

One of my friends didn't believe me about the jerky treats. The general public believes that the only brands affected are those that were made public......& nobody went out of their way to make any of this public. Anyway, I went to the AVMA website & printed out their alert & brought it to her. Maybe she'll believe them.

My friends think I've completely lost it & become some sort of she-devil when it comes to pet food & treats. Like I'm obsessed or something. All I can say is I warned those I know who have dogs......if anything happened to any of these dogs, I would feel personally responsible. Now I've done my part.
