Yum… Chocolate. Delicious to us humans but not so good for our little doggies. In honor of National Poison Prevention Week (March 19-25), Seattle Animal Shelter has shared some tips to keep your pets safe from deadly household items. Some food items that can be harmful to dogs are: chocolate, macadamia nuts, bread dough, and onions. Cats should stay away from daffodils and lilies. Other plants that toxic to pets are: corn stalk plants, bird of paradise, sago palm, cyclamen, philodendron, and dieffenbachia (What are those last three plants? I flunked my Biology of Plants class in college. No, seriously, I took that course. You got to love state schools).
