Buckle Up, Spot

Dog Seat BeltThe weather is getting warmer and it’s time for you and your pets to hit the open road. You may buckle up but does your pet? According to the 2007-2008 APPMA (American Pet Products Manufacturers Association) National Pet Owners Survey, 80% of pet owners say they travel with their pets but don’t use a restraint.

Many states are cracking down on pets in vehicles and some are not allowing dogs to ride in the back of a pickup truck or open vehicle. Some products that can help when traveling with a pet are: the Ruff Rider Canine Vehicle Restraint System (basically it’s a seat belt for your dog), the Kurgo Auto Zip Line (a harness and restraint system for your pet and the line allows your pet to move around in the back seat), the Wander Bed and a Backseat Barrier (so your dog won’t be able to hop over to the passenger seat), a booster seat (so your dog doesn’t have to sit on your lap to see the world anymore). Now if only there was something we could do with all of the nose print marks on the window.

Just wanted to say my dogs have used Rough Rider safety restraints for many years now. We buckle them into the back seat. It is a good product.

Oops - that is “Ruff” Rider!

I use the VestHarness and seat belt adaptors that hook into the D-ring at the back of the vest! Buckle in back seat and everyone is safe, humans included!
