In my decades of pet ownership, Shannon is the best vet I've ever had the pleasure of knowing and working with. His compassion and knowledge exceed all others. Those of us in the Las Vegas area were devastated when he decided to relocate to Oregon. We now have a summer home in Indiana so split our time between Las Vegas and Indiana and even between those two states,I have yet to find a vet of his quality. Keep him happy, Medford, as he's a gem.

My cat Rex was born with Herpies and he suddenly lost his eyesight when he was a baby kitten but he gets along just fine. And he also eats a lot for a blind cat. His eyes are not their right color they are tinted blue because he is blind right now. He can find his food and litter box just fine.

I have just adopted my second blind cat. My first blind cat, Jacob, lost his sight at two weeks of age to illness. A friend found him and brought him to me and I simply could not give up on him. We adopted him and after a long, tough struggle to keep him alive, we realized the sight loss was permanent. But his spirit was resilient...tough little guy. Four years later, he is loving, gentle, sweet and gets around remarkably well, chasing toys down the hall, leaping mid-air to catch a "thing we can't see", etc. Unlike Jacob, our new baby, Ludwig, was born without eyes, but apparently no dental problems. Just like Jacob in heart and spirit, playful, joyful, loving and wonderful. I want others to know that a blind cat is not terribly handicapped and can have a terrific, normal life. I am happy to have found this website and wish I was closer to Dr. Sierra. And Max.

I feel very blessed and honored to know little Max. I also have fallen in love with him. Afer being around Max you don't even think of him as being blind. He is an incredible and wonderful cat. Dr. Sierra is the best vet in the world in my eyes. He takes wonderful care of all my kitties. The best thing about Dr. Sierra is that he truly cares. I wish there were more vets like him.

Our female cat just delivered a second litter of kittens.....the first were born in April....the second in the end of July......How in the heck is that possible? She was scheduled to be spayed...but my five year old son passed away in a drowning accident and our household is not functioning well at all right now.
My oldest daughter (13) just brought one of the little ones in to tell me that they had opened their eyes but that this one had puss....I cleaned him well and when I opened the little slits.(they WERE open) I realized that he had NO eyes....either socket. His head is shaped with a "bump" on top, a longer snout than normal, and one of his nostril holes is nearly shut....like a hairlip effect. I dont want to give up on the little fellow so Ive decided to foster it along with his 2 other brothers until its time to find good homes....but I cant think of anyone who would want a kitty like this....it breaks my heart.
I have two cats inside and a yorkie, a boston terrier outside and three outside cats. I cannot keep anymore with what our family is facing right now. Its enough to keep up with the bills for the pets we currently have. What should I do? Put up fliers? Put him in the paper? We dont have a no kill shelter in Anniston Alabama....they dont even care when animals are mistreated. Dogs chained by the neck to a pole or tree with no room to move, puppy mills. Chicken fighting areanas.....its downright pitiful.
Whats your advice?

I love mr Max...I am a Veterinary tech. and have a happy household of five that nobody claimed or had the money to treat. Tony is my maine coon that was born with Hydrocephalis and extreme entropion but he is now a happy and healthy kitty with the entropion corrected and the hydrocephalis just causes minor problems with agility.

Just this week in our local paper they have a picture of one pet and a list of about four others, for the animal clinic in my town. This photo was of a 3 month old and kitty that also was blind. I already have a 2 cats and a dog in a small house. But I still wanted to go and just hold and play with him! I hope he finds a loving home.

Awwww such a cute kitty!!! We would have taken him in as well. No cat whether perfect health or handicapped gets turned away at my house. They are all cute and deserving of a home and love!

Great story!
