Cat Rescued Four Days After Apartment Fire

TigerTiger, the cat, was found in rubble after a fire occurred in his owner’s apartment four days before.

When a supervisor was looking through the rubble and removed a piece of drywall, he saw something move and found a scared Tiger. He was taken to the vet for dehydration and precautionary treatment. Luckily, Tiger experienced only a small amount of smoke inhalation because he was in the closet covered by clothing.

Tiger’s owner is extremely happy especially since she thought Tiger had perished along with her other two cats. His owner thinks that Tiger’s life was saved because he is more timid and would always stay in his owner’s bedroom throughout the day instead of the other two cats who would roam the house.

Tiger is doing well and will be in foster care while his owner tries to find a new home.

This is precisely why I have trained my 3 dogs to run outside when the smoke alarm goes off. I am lucky enough to have a fenced yard and pet doors. My sympathies to the cat owner. I can’t imagine how much that would hurt the heart.
