Cat Saved From Sinking Boat
Orange County deputies responded to the scene after lifeguards spotted a 40-foot boat taking on water. Then deputies discovered a cat inside the sinking boat.
Deputies heard a cry for help, but it wasn’t from a human. They continued to hear a cat crying, but they couldn’t find the cat on the boat.
The boat continued to sink as the deputies tried to find the distressed cat. Unable to find the cat, they jumped back onto their boat, but then 20 seconds later, they looked in the boat and saw the orange and white cat swimming around inside the cabin.
Deputies jumped back on the boat, reached into the cabin, and grabbed the swimming cat by the tail and pulled him out.
The owner, who was not on the boat during the incident, was extremely happy that his cat, Fido, was rescued.

I’m so glad there are people out there that really go the extra mile to help ANY living being. I would have done the same thing and if it were my cat, I’d be the most happy person on the planet. Keep up the great work!

Being a cat, I bet Fido though thankful to be rescued, was still ticked his rescuers grabbed him by the tail. :)

Ouch! Tail! But it was really nice of them not to give up on Fido. I’m glad he and his owners are reunited!

That’s not a very flattering photo of what was a valant deed.
Although that’s generally not the best way to pick up a cat, it may be the best way to pick up a swimming cat. Methinks the news team might have picked a shot more representative of an act of kindness than the one they chose.

Being a cat lover and having much experience with cats, I’m not so sure that this is so out of line. Have you ever tried to hold a frightened cat?
