Cat Scares Bear Up The Tree — Twice
Jack the cat has no fear. This 15-pound tabby chased a black bear up a tree in his New Jersey backyard last year (see the picture). The cat hissed at the bottom of the tree where the bear was hiding for about 15 minutes. When the bear tried to escape, Jack ran him up another tree. Finally, Jack’s owner called him inside and the bear finally was able to get away.
Jack’s owner said that he doesn’t like anyone in his yard. Uh. Understatement of the year.
Black bears are typically not territorial and they weigh between 200-600 pounds. Jack wasn’t even scared of the fact that bears can eat animals as big as moose calves.
Don’t mess with Jack.
