I created this toy for my cats over 20 years ago! I took two very strong, square boxes, put one inside the other and cut holes in the top box and put in a couple of ping pong balls. Cost=$0 ( I used old ping pong balls I already had)

Bottom line: All a cat needs is a paper bag, or a box and a ping pong ball.

My ’smart’ cat looked at it, reached in, pulled out his favorite toy, looked at me with the “duh” look and walked away. Once in while he will pull out all the other toys.

My pretty smart cat (or maybe the smarter cat) understands that this is Entertainment. She will intentionally try to get her favorites from the side they are furthest from.

Like most toys, the charm has worn off over the years. I probably need to get some new catnip toys and see if this will reinterest them in it.

We have this toy and put food into it sometimes to keep our boys challenged and for our own entertainment. It’s a great toy for everyone.
