County Prosecutor To Pursue Indictments In Dog Fighting Case At Vick Property

Surry County Commonwealth’s Attorney Gerald G. Poindexter said that he plans to present “a host of bills of indictment” regarding the case at Michael Vick’s property.
Poindexter said he will be presenting “matters to the grand jury that involve dogfighting at 1915 Moonlight Road.”
Moonlight Road is where Vick’s dog fighting operation, “Bad Newz Kennels”, was located.
“Most of the matters that I’m presenting have already been admitted in sworn statements authored by the defendants in the federal proceedings,” Poindexter said.
He didn’t go into specifics of the indictments he will seek, but he said the local authorities and federal investigators focused on different crimes.
Poindexter added: “The killing of dogs is one of those statutory prohibitions. Dogfighting is a crime, the mistreatment of animals is a crime, so you could take your pick, or take them all.”
Vick, his co-defendants and lawyers are not permitted to attend the closed proceeding.

And hopefully Poindexter can get some things done locally to turn the old M Vick property to a No-Kill Shelter. THAT WOULD BE JUSTICE!

he’s been indicted!
but for some F***ING reason they passed on the cruelty charges!!! WTF?!
“A defense attorney who was at the courthouse Tuesday said he was “befuddled” when he learned the grand jury had passed on indicting Vick and the others on animal cruelty charges.
“There’s something going on here that I don’t understand,” said Joe Pennington, a Norfolk defense attorney who was at the courthouse. ”

And isn’t it curious that that rapper DMZ or whatever he’s called hasn’t been arrested?
Methinks something big is up. Big sting operation?
