I felt that the dog showing up in the middle of the bay sounded suspicious too.
I can understand falling off the boat without a life vest, but without a collar?
If my dog fell overboard, I'd be looking for her.
Thanks to these two men that saved her, they are how we all are supposed to be, kind and helpful. I hope the dog gets a good and loving home.

The dog may have been on a boat and gone overboard. If the boat was fast moving and the dog wasn't wearing a lifevest it may have been hard to spot in the water, especially if the waves were high. I just bought neon orange lifevest for Maggie for these very reasons.

Getting rescued is great, hope she has a happy reunion ... or adoption, whichever the case may be!

I sure wouldn't be looking for the owner. The fact that the dog had no collar and was in the middle of the bay makes me think someone took her out there and threw her overboard! If we lived in a civilized world, then the cousins would be correct in trying to find the owner. The fact is we don't and the dog should be placed with a good Lab rescue who will rehome her.

Those guys are great for saving the dog! I do wonder too, if this dog may have been dumped by his owner. Why would a dog swim so far into the bay if he was only going to turn right around and swim back? Hmmm... very suspicious. Let's pray that if no one claims the dog he will be adopted by a good family. Either that or maybe one of the two guys themselves will adopt him!

meh...I agree, it's suspect how that dog got that far from land on its own. I'm thinking she was taken out there and dumped overboard.

What great guys! It warms the heart to know there are such kind people out there. Gives balance to all the sad news.

Given that the dog was at least a mile from land and not wearing a collar, I'd be a little reluctant to try to find her family and reunite her with them; I find myself feeling a little suspicious of how she ended up where she did, and wondering whether she'd been dumped, poor thing.

I'm so glad those guys saw that dog and were kind enough to save it. They deserve medals. They're heros.
