Pat Tully wants his dog in the Guinness Book of World Records. Not for having the longest ears or having the most tennis balls in her mouth, or even for the highest jump. She wants his 7-year-old Kodi to be in the book for climbing trees.
Kodi can easily climb a 40-foot blue spruce tree.
“I couldn’t stop her from doing it if I wanted to, so it’s like it’s meant to be,” Tully said. “Literally every day — in any kind of weather — she’ll be up in these trees.”
Tully said she is his wonderdog and she is up there trying to help him with hunting. He said she goes up in the trees to go after the birds.
He has tried to get Kodi into the Guinness World Book of Records three times. But so far, no luck.
Or he would even like to get her on the David Letterman show or on an amazing animal video.
Regardless if Kodi becomes a global celebrity or not, Tully said this dog still brings smiles and entertainment to the local residents.
“When she gets near the top of these trees, there’s a lot of, ‘Oh, wow, this can’t be true,’” he said. “I’m just amazed, amazed to this day that this dog is intelligent enough to do what she does.”
He is worried whenever his dog does climb. But Tully said in her seven years of climbing, she has only fallen a couple of times, and the dense branches also cushion her fall.
