Dog Eats All Of The Pies For World Pie Eating Championship

CharlieCharlie loves pies. This Bichon Frise loves pies so much that he ate 20 pies in one sitting. But Charlie’s love for pies almost ruined the World Pie Eating Championship.

He raided the refrigerator of 1995 World Pie Eating champion Dave Williams which was full of the pies that were being saved for the championship. Williams was distracted by a pigeon flying up his chimney, so Charlie had his chance to snag some pies.

Fortunately, numerous calls were made to several bakers to whip up a new batch of pies for the championship.

Instead of getting in trouble for his pie eating, Charlie was entered into the World Pie Eating Championship.

The organizer of the event said, “We’ve nothing in the rules to say dogs can’t compete so he will be lining up against the other pie eaters and judging by his performance yesterday he’s got a great chance of winning.”

Except Charlie seemed too full from his pie raid that he wasn’t even able to finish his competition pie. The winner of the competition scarfed down his pie in a record-breaking 34 seconds.

Williams said, “Charlie was a rescue dog and has habit of picking food up from the street. We think this trait has stuck with him because he never knew where his next meal was coming from as a youngster so there was no way we could be angry with him for eating all the pies yesterday.”

I am not a veterinarian but it seems to me that eating all those pies would be catastrophic to the poor dog’s health. What a stupid contest!

You don’t need to be a veterinarian to know that this is very unhealthy, not to mention dangerous for pets or humans.

Don’t these people have better things to do with their time?

when charlie gets pancreatitis his owners will have no clue it was their own fault for feeding him all of this junk.

Not only is it unhealthy for any dog to eat in this manner, it is also very dangerous to let them have anything out of a foil pie tin!! Years ago, I had a wonderful little dog that LOVED to lick the frozen chicken pie tins. I’d always save a bit for her as a treat. One time, some of the crust stuck to the bottom of the tin and in her effort to get to it, she also injested an arrow-shaped piece of the pie tin. A couple of hours later, she was in terrible pain. We finally were able to talk a young vet into meeting us at his office. It ended up with very extensive surgery….me having to assist him because he needed the help. That piece of pie tin became lodged between her stomach and her intestine. In the end, she did survive, after a long and worrisome week’s stay in the hospital. This certainly taught me a lesson!!! NO MORE FOIL PIE TINS!!!

    This is so clearly ABUSE!!!!

Just because the dog will eat, does not mean it is right for him to gorge on junk!!!!!

Also, don’t most baked pastries and such now have a toxic to dogs sweetner used in them? This poor little dog is going to get sick, it will eventually be fatal! If he loves baked goods, there are suitable Dog Bakery goods for pups!!!!

I was not amused by this story at all! All I could think about was the dogs health. I would not want to be around when this dog finally goes number two.
