Dog Foils Car Theft

Who needs a car alarm when you have a Great Dane in the backseat?

Diesel, an 11-month-old Great Dane/Alsatian mix, made a car thief run away in fear when he saw Diesel in the car.

Karen Griggs was picking up her children from school when she left her car unattended. Diesel was sleeping in the back seat. Then a thief hopped into the car and stated to take off. But then Diesel woke up from his nap and popped his head up from the back.

The thief became so scared when he saw Diesel, who stands six feet tall on his hind legs, that he left the car just a few yards from where he stole it and ran away from the scene.

Griggs said, “I’d love to have seen the look on his face when he saw Diesel in the mirror. He must have got the shock of his life. There’s no alarm on the car but who needs one when you’ve got the Hound of the Baskervilles on your back seat? The funny thing is Diesel is a big softie; he wouldn’t harm a fly.”

LOL I’ll bet he is a big softie. I can see it all…..the bandit driving off and up pops this huge head……you gotta’ love it. LOL, LOL.

Sometimes modern technology simply won’t replace the good old-fashioned method.

he is a beautie! Wow! I’d rather have him than the car! Glad the thief didn’t feel that way. Just goes to show……..the thieves of this work can’t be nice, or they’d be dog people!

don’t ever leave your dog in the car. Just yesterday an old lady left her car running with her 8 year old chihuahua inside and her car was stolen. She just went into the drug store to pick up a prescription but that was enough time for the bastard to steal her car. They found the car but her beloved companion was not in it. She is devastated. The St. Paul paper ran the story and a picture so pray that the dog will be returned and hug your dogs.

I couldn’t agree more with Janet. Let’s hope the dog is returned.

Diesel (great name) must be more Dane than Alsatian( akaGerman Shepherd Dog). No self respecting GSD would nap while his car was being stolen. Diesel can be excused because he was only 11 months old. My BIL leaves his GSD in the open covered box of his truck with the keys right in front of the dog. Funny thing no one has tried to steal it. Don’t try that with an 8 year old chihuaha (What are people thinking?)

I’m sorry, but if you’re stupid enough to leave your car running, unattended you deserve to have it stolen. No one lives in Mayberry anymore.

Something like that happened in my town a few months ago, but with a kid in back of the car instead. And, of course, the mom left the car running and the keys in the ignition. And as the child was not part GSD, it took a while for the thief to abandon the car.

The car running things seems to happen out here a lot. Not many leave any one in there, but no where else I have lived have I seen so many people leave their cars running whilst they go to the store (not just to pick up meds, but full one grocery shopping!)
It is not only stupid but also very polluting. And to leave any living creature in there who isn’t able to turn off the car or lock the doors is just beyond stupid.
