Dog Found In Trash Can Gets New Home

OscarIt’s been three months since Oscar, a four-month-old pit bull puppy, was found in a trash can.

Animal control officers found the little dog in a garbage can and took the injured puppy to veterinarians. He had injuries all over his body, blood in his eye, and a broken leg.

Veterinarians believed Oscar had been used as bait for dog-fighting.

Now, Oscar has recovered, and he just has a bit of a limp when he walks. But this doesn’t stop him at all from running around and playing on grass.

Jaime Blair and Chris Taylor followed Oscar’s story since the beginning and wanted to provide him with a loving and caring home.

Blair said: “They say he may have a limp, but I don’t care. He deserves the best home he can have. I was so mad. I think people that can do that kind of cruelty to something so innocent; it’s just a different kind of evil. Actually, I’m kind of a ‘turn-around’ case. When I was a child, I had a beagle killed by a pack of pit bulls, and it wasn’t the dog. It was the owners.”

Oscar now joins the couple in their home, and he already has two big sisters, including Shea, a five-year-old pit bull.

Taylor said it will definitely be a crowded house and bed since the dogs sleep on the bed with the couple.

He added that Oscar is going to be spoiled and will have a wonderful life that he so deserves. Even though he was once thrown out with the trash, Oscar now will be the man of the house and the king of the heap.

AWWWW, what a lucky dogger! I am so happy that his story has such a happy ending. Blessings on the folks who first rescued and then adopted Oscar. He so deserves all the good things coming his way now.

Sadly this seems to happen a lot. Here is a similar, even sadder article from 2006:

Osborne Animal Clinic has offered a $500 reward for tips leading to the arrest of whoever duct-taped a dog’s mouth shut and tossed him in a commercial garbage bin.

The dog, a mixed breed shepherd suspected of being used for dog fighting, is still alive, but has multiple injuries to his face and legs and will need his right leg amputated.

What the he!! is wrong with people in this world. And some people defend the right to allow dog-fighting. SICK SICK SICK!!!

These happy endings are too few.

The only thing that would make me happier than hearing about Oscar’s outcome would be to find out that the SOB who abused this poor dog was behind bars for his/her entire life.

That poor shepherd mix who had his mouth taped and was used as bait. I just want to hold tenderly and kiss and pamper that dog. How awful. I pray that someone adopts him and protects him for the rest of his life. I hope the people who did that to him die horrible deaths so what they did can flash before their eyes. And Oscar!!!!! What a nice person to love Oscar unconditionally after their beagle was used as bait a long time ago. Rest in PEACE little beagle, knowing that your owner will always love you.

It is so good to hear that there are such good and loving people out there. These are the kind of people we need in our society. The kind of people that put the pup in the can are the kind that need to be eliminated.
