Just found this website thingy today (04-11-09)! My precious Tark died in my arms November 6th of ‘07. I had no idea so many people out there were praying for him.

i’ve always put my girls first. when i didnt have money ,they always ate before i did but i really draw the line at dumping tons of money in some “holistic “doctors’ pocket for unproven procedures and remedies. it’s not that i think that much outside of traditional medicine isn’t helpful-on the contrary -but terminal diseases are effected by miracles before they’re remedied by herbs and smudge sticks let alone traditional drugs and invasive procedures with questionable success rates.

years ago, i brought i friend to some wholistic voodoo vet with her cat who had just been diagnosed with feline leukemia. he had this stunning array of bach medicines and meatless foods to be ministered in such a complicated manner i had to do a flow chart to help keep track of the days and dosages. after a week of torturing the poor cat, who had promptly stopped eating ,i managed to convince my friend to give it up- the cat’s is going to die and short of divine intervention there’s nothing we can do to stop it. why make her more miserable stuffing twigs and berries in her? give her the food she likes, make her comfortable and pray for a peaceful end.

i felt the same way when i saw my grandmother ,who had specified legally that she had wanted no heroic measures done to revive her if her heart stopped, plugged into machines and being kept artificially “alive.” after rather brutally quizzing her smug little intern as to whether her condition had met the criteria of having been’ revived against her expressed wishes’ (and i nearly had to beat it out of him but, yes, he admitted it was so), i flew into such a rage at his/their audacity in ignoring her will my mother had to slide between the two of us for fear of me smacking him upside his puffed up ,arrogant head. doctors of all ilks do so like to see themselves as god and in doing so they exploit the pain and suffering of those so scared of losing their loved one. guilt tripping at such a time is clearly a cash cow to certain people of questionable morals.

personally, i will not allow any of my girls to suffer . if i feel the quality of their lives is so impacted by illness that it would be cruel to try to drag them through lengthy disruptive treatments i will not do it and i do not think i am miserly or selfish in doing so.but we all draw our own lines in these difficult decisions of life and death. i trust my pets to convey to me when its time for them to go and while it’s never easy to see my dear babies go beyond the veil in my heart , i trust ,i know they are always with me.

I’m not against using herbs and other “natural modalities” … I’ve used many herbs and other “natural treatments” myself (and I have given some to my dog, too, and I have found that some do provide a measurable good effect … milk thistle for the liver, for example).

But as far as I know, the Nobel Prize nominees list is *never made public. The list of nominees is a closely guarded secret and only the Nobel Prize winners’ names are ever announced. So when I see anyone claiming to be a Nobel Prize nominee, that is a huge red flag for me.

If Budwig was a nominee, she wouldn’t know, and neither would anybody else, unless she won a Nobel Prize of course.

Maybe flaxseed oil and cottage cheese works to fight cancer, I don’t know (it couldn’t hurt to try it I guess) … but I wouldn’t trust any information on any site that hails Dr. Budwig as a “seven-time Nobel Prize nominee.” and I also wouldn’t bet my life (or the life of my dog) on it.

Budwig’s cancer-cure claims are not new (I’ve known about the flaxseed oil and cottage cheese thing for years). And honestly, if flaxseed oil and cottage cheese could really cure cancer, surely by now somebody with believable credentials would have made it known to the world that if you want to cure a cancer, that’s how to do it.

Does anybody here actually know somebody who has tried it and found that it cured their cancer?

Promoting these types of unproven claims gives false hope to people, and in my opinion, that is cruel.

In the article there are testimonials to the success of her protocol, which has been used not only with people, but also with pets. Her name is Dr. Johanna Budwig and you will find much info if you search her name, including information relating to pets who have benefitted from her therapy as well.

Hope the info in this article might encourage you to give this option a try.

I bought his book and I tried to consult him (ie via paid phone consultation) years ago when my dog was diagnosed with Cushing’s. I guess that he was too busy to do phone consults back then too, because I was only offered the possibilty to consult (for an astronomical amount of money) by phone with one of the Vets who works in his clinic … and that only if I agreed to ship blood samples to his Lab for analysis first. I was told that I would also have to continue sending in the blood samples and doing the expensive phone consults on an ongoing basis.

I asked if maybe my Vet could contact Dr. Goldstein to consult with him about treatments for my dog, figuring that maybe he could explain some of his novel and wonderful treatment options to my Vet, but I was told he doesn’t consult with Vets either.

He doesn’t go into any detail at all about the treatments he talks about in his book, so I had tried everything I knew how to do to get Dr. Goldstein’s input, hoping he could elaborate on some “treatments” he mentioned in his book, but I came away from that experience with a bad taste in my mouth and the feeling that like so many other people, he’s only in it for the money.

I sure hope that Tark’s Mom can get the help she needs for Tark, but I doubt she’ll get anything at all from Goldstein
