Not only can they be thrown out, as Lucky was, but they can sustain eye injuries or become blinded from airborne particles that fly into the dog's eyes when going at those speeds. My dogs are both secured in car seats when we're on the road. They are small and could really be thrown for a loop just from my having to hit the brake pedal hard! Wise up, pet owners!
