Dog Rescued Three Days After 30 Foot Fall Off Cliff

TaffyTaffy, a dog, fell off a 30-foot cliff in the UK and survived.

His owner, Angela Hutton, was walking Taffy near a cliff edge without a leash when the dog fell off.

The Coastguard and rescue teams were organized to find the dog. The search efforts were unsuccessful and Taffy was nowhere to be found.

Hutton was afraid that her missing dog had drowned and she would never see him. But three days later, a person walking by saw Taffy at the bottom of the cliffs.

Taffy suffered some facial injuries but is doing well. Hutton is simply amazed and excited that she has her dog back.

A spokesman for the Coastguard said that Taffy must have been knocked unconscious when he fell off the cliff. He said it was lucky that someone saw the injured dog. He also reminded pet owners to keep their dogs on leashes when walking near cliff edges.

This is the second story like this I have heard about regarding dogs falling off the edges of English cliffs. Not only do they need to warn folks to use leashes but they need to be specific because apparently some folks have no common sense. First off a retractable leash would be useless and secondly - a leash hooked to a standard or breakaway collar would be useless. (trust me - some people don’t think this far in advance) A leash on a well fitted harness is what needs to be used.

well, i’m glad that the pup is okay. i hike all the time & when i know that i’m in an area with a lot of cliffs, my dog goes on her leash!
