Dog Saves Owner Before Dying In Fire
An Iowa man will always remember his hero, Storm, his dog.
An electrical fire broke out in Bryan Smith’s home, and Storm saved Smith’s life by waking him up. When he woke up, all he saw was smoke. He grabbed his other dog, Daisy, a puppy, and Storm ran between his legs to try and escape the flames.
Unfortunately, Storm did not make it out of the fire, and Smith almost lost his own life by trying to get back into the house to save her. Firemen had to pull him away from the door where he fell trying to find Storm.
Smith said, “I know it was stupid, but … people with pets understand.”
He rescued Storm seven years ago when her previous owner was feeding her peroxide. Smith said that perhaps his beloved dog was returning the favor.
To remember the dog that saved his life, Smith keeps pictures of Storm in his coat pocket.

Wow. When I heard this on the news, I was wondering whether the family was trying to save the dog too, and I am glad to hear that they did. They must be heartbroken, but at the same time, they will always remember their friend. What a great dog. Like so many dogs . . . :)

How awful to loose a dear friend after he saved you. This family must be devasted. I would be and I lost my pup Mufifn to lymphoma cancer in 2004 and she was everything to us. I have Missy now and she is a family member not just a dog. Yes I know that the people that love their pups, kitties and other animals get it and understand.
