She is recovering from her burns and will make a 100% recovery, although will always carry the scars of her ordeal. We thank you for your kind words and thoughts for this girl. Someone asked why the family was not taking care of the dog -- they lost evrything in the fire. They have no home and no finances to pay the nearly $1000 in vet and medical supply charges to care for Queena. We stepped forward as emergency responders for the Red Cross to take care of the dog. Once recovered, she will be returned to the family once they have been resettled. Queena is terribly depressed and feels the loss of her owner. We are supplying her with lots of love in her foster home and over time, her heart will heal. The burns are healing, but will require daily bandage changes for up to six weeks. That, along with the medication, is expensive and time consuming, but Queena well is worth it! She is a sweetheart who gives pit bulls a GOOD name....loyal and loving. She currently is curled up with a 2-1/2 lb chihuahua at my feet. I have attached a few more images of Queena (I hope they come through) ... She may have even heard his cries of help. How traumatic it must of been for her.
