I personally think it’s great. I also am checking into a license to own a bear. This is how I found this site. I am a animal lover and always have been. I have bears going through my yard all of the time. I have named them all. I can tell you that one of my bears has been injured, by man. This is why I want a licence to own. Now I worry about his well being and safety. He loves to ring my chimes,so I hung them were he will now be able to reach them with his injury,and I know he is here. Stay safe and happy Abby!

Well most times I agree. But this is one of those rare times with a rare bear. I see no problem with him having this bear as a pet. Not like he never owned one before. Had one for 20 years. Guy knows what hes doing

I agree with all of you too. no good will come of this. Even if the bear doesn’t turn on them who will take care of it if something happens & they can’t?

I agree.The Game Commission should know better even if the family doesn’t. It’s a disaster waiting to happen.

Don’t know about anyone else, but I disagree with any family keeping a pet bear PERIOD! Bears are wild animals and as such, should be left to live out their lives in their native habitat. What happens if this bear goes ballistic on them? I see nothing good coming from this. Perhaps if this family loves bears so much they could spend their time and energy to help those bears in the wild (or get them released from circuses, etc).
