From now on, I am abandoning the team that used to be my team, and rooting for the teams that are doing things to help the dogs.

I think I am going to write the coach of the Redskins and tell him that they have a special responsibility to get involved to help dogs because of Clinton Portis’ ignorant remarks minimizing Michael Vick’s behavior. I won’t watch them again or root for them again until they do something like this.

I just knew there were some good guys out there! Thank you, Itchmo, for introducing them to us. I wish that they would get more press than MV and that others will see that’s the BEST way for pro athletes to be involved with animals. Blessings on the good work you fellows are doing.

I can only bow down with gratitude to these two dog lovers. They are doing something that is very compassionate and loving for doggies in need and also helping people who have to work all day a safe place to keep their fur-kids during working hours.

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and his foundation donated an explosion detection dog, a training course and a canine protection vest to the Cleveland Division of Policeâ€™s canine unit.

While I applaud what these players are doing I have serious questions about the use of dogs in police departments after seeing this site:

â€œSchutzhundâ€ style training involves a high tolerance for dog abuse including the deliberate hanging or â€œlynchingâ€ of dogs, swinging, slamming, kicking, etc. These methods are employed by the police, sheriffs, military and private dog trainers and academies.
