Girl Teaches Deaf Dog Sign Language

Baloo and HannahHannah and her dog, Baloo, are inseparable. This four-year-old girl and her Jack Russell terrier share a special bond and they both have something in common — both Hannah and Baloo are hard of hearing.

Hannah is partially deaf in her right ear, but with the help of a hearing aid, she acts like any other four-year-old girl. And Hannah wanted something that many four-year-olds want — a dog.

That’s when Hannah’s parents found Baloo, and the match seemed to be made in heaven.

Since Hannah has started to learn sign language, she is also teaching Baloo sign language. She has taught him stop, sit, rollover and various other commands.

These two don’t need a hearing aid or sign language to understand the love they have for each other.

Hannah and Baloo have also been asked to be spokesmodels for other children dealing with hearing loss.

well someone should cruelly take the dog away because as we know small dogs are inappropriate for children under 14… if you follow some people’s ‘ logic’.

once again it’s the animals that show up humans in the compassion and understanding department. this is grace in action- bless them both.

And a little Jack too! Shows Jacks can get along with the little ones too as long as THEY (the children) are SUITABLE companions. Hannah is a lovely and savy girl.

I agree with all 3 of you. When my dogs have gotten older & started to lose their hearing i would make up my own signs & we got along fine but i’m sure not 4 years old & my dogs was not pups. This is a beautiful story. Love holds no bonds.

To train your dog you need some good equipment to do it!Training is not about giving commands and pushing a dog to work hard instead of enjoy life, it is quite the opposite. So that training would be effective if you have a gooddog languagewhich makes the training effective.
