Grim Milestone: 1,000 Reports of Pet Death

Update from PetConnection.com: More than 1,000 people have reported deaths in connection with the Menu Foods recall. Sadly, this was expected. We reported that by our early analysis (3/19) up to 74,000 pets could die. Other estimates range in the several thousands.

To give you an idea as to how fast these reports are coming in, this morning, the reported deaths stood at 769.

To help us prevent this from ever happening again, read this petition and sign it. Then get alerts for any future recalls.

Why do FDA and all news sources keep referring to just 16 deaths?? Why the huge discrepancy in numbers of deaths/illnesses being counted?

Is there a way to reach major media? This is so sick! Many people STILL do NOT know about this! I am shocked at the lack of coverage the media is giving this! Itchmo, petconnection, and other internet sites are doing a GREAT job! But what about the people who cannot access the internet? Or who can, but still don’t know about it! And, the news, like Marj says, tells of 16 deaths…a number not large enough to make people worry enough! They need to hear the truth! What more can we do!? Maybe call radio stations and HOPE they put us on air? I don’t know. These companies can NOT get away with this. This is not something that will just blow over! What can we do?
