dogs are not human should be cut up and fed to pigs. dogs are made to work so work em' don't dress em in a shirt and clothes.Hunt em',protection train em',herd em' IF you peta sissy's want a lap dog get a cat.P.S. Staffy's are not the same breed as an american pitbull terrier. If you have a small grapefruit and a big orange they look the same but tastes totally different.People that do not know anything about bully breeds always group them together.

How come, when a Staffy attacks someone, they label it a "Pit Bull" but when they save someone. All of a sudden the media recognizes them as a separate breed.
My problem is you keep calling Kaiser a pit, he is a staffordshire bull terrier they are NOT the same dog
They are as far as Breed Specific Legislation goes, around the world.
The 3 breeds normally named in BSL are
1)The Staffordshire Bull Terrier
2)The American Staffordshire Terrier
3)The APBT
and dogs with similar traits and characteristics.
There are upwards of 20+ Pure Breed dogs that are commonly mistaken for "Pit Bulls" by the public but the Staffy is usually named in the legislation.
Hope Kaiser is well.

People keep screaming about dangerous pit bulls when it's the people you are the most dangerous.

Good job Kaiser! Your daddy should be very proud of you.

Kaiser's daddy, you were way to slow on the vet care, next time don't wait. If a pit bull is bleeding it needs a vet NOW! All the reasons you choose the breed you did, is what made Kaiser save your life, you owe it to him to return the favor with just as much speed and concern. I'm sure you won't make the same mistakes again.

Give him kisses from me. And some extra treats

The owner should have taken his dog to the vet immediately. In my opinion, this is another example of the abuse of the Pit Bull. The owner appears to have assumed the dog was tough enough to take the stab without treatment b/c he was a pit bull. Not happy with this owner at all!!

Yes, the dog should have been immediately taken for emergency treatment.

I haven't been around a lot of Pit Bulls or Staffordshire Terriers, but based on just about everything I've ever read, it would appear that these dogs do not attack unless provoked. And if that's the true, then I would say that man is definitely the more dangerous of the two species.

It's easy to believe that the man could have been unaware of his dog's injury when you think about how this and other bully breeds have been bred for many years to have a high tolerance for pain that masks signs of injury or illness.

I'm glad Kaiser is on the mend. He's got a great dog there.

the fact is the dog lost 6 pints of blood-one would think that that would be noticable to the average human as being a serious amount of blood no matter how small the wound. he risked the dog's life in not seeking care immediately-a dog that risked his own life to save him. it appears thoughtless and careless. when a wound keeps bleeding it should be apparent that it's serious. making excuses for the man belies the fact that it was sheer luck he got the poor dog to the vet on time rather than being responsible for the animal bleeding to death through lack of care.

if your child was the one who was stabbed instead and they kept bleeding- would you take them home and put them to bed with a band aid? people have a real disconect with animals and the fact that when they are cut , they bleed. when they're hurt, they're in pain and that they need the same care we would provide for a human in a similar situation and they're further at a disatvantage because they cannot tell us exactly how they feel. if the dog was hit by a car and showed no external bleeding, would it be wise to just take the dog home because there was no blood?

just because for once we have a ' good' pit bull in the news, is no excuse to defend the indefensible manner people treat their pets.dogs get gored in dog fighting and if the owner doesn't vet them, we're horrified. i see no difference fundamentally in this case. when the animal you are entrusted with is hurt- you are responsible for getting them care as you would your child.

I would if I realized it was a stab wound. What I'm saying is it may have looked like a slit, not a puncture. If the knife was like a pen knife, a 1/2" slit might not appear that threatening.
Personally, I would have taken my dog to the vet just to be on the safe side. I'm just trying to make the point that we don't know all the facts and shouldn't automatically assume the owner is an ass.
