They cab get rather savage if given enough motivation. ( My family had toy poodles that were great mousers.) My old brindle dog knows better than to force a cat off his bed. I'll remove the cat for him, but he is not to show any attitude toward a cat . Good ol' dog. He won't even look a cat straight in the eye ...well, not one of the house cats anyway.
