Too bad they cannot be completely wiped out and outlawed, because they should. And no pet shops who sell mammals should be allowed to operate in that capacity either, EVER. Only the shops who sell pet food and supplies and help to find rescued cats and dogs their loving, forever homes. The selling of purebred show and companion animals should be left to only the responsible breeders who are well known and trusted, and they are out there. And getting back to puppy and kitten mills.
