Aside from the fact that I would never leave my dog behind ever, now matter what some douche with a gun said, if this happened to my Spike, the guys would not be walking around alive today. I know people will say that’s wrong, but I don’t care. I love my dog more than most human beings, and would save him first, frankly.

I read this article yesterday morning and got sick. I couldn’t keep from thinking about it all day yesterday and still today. Bear with me as I express my thoughts. I too, am a relatively nonviolent person. However, I believe that these criminals (notice that I did not refer to the sheriff and his deputies as people) should be prosecuted under special circumstances such as those of profiting from a natural disaster. These poor people had lost everything already, and had carried their pets with them, obviously holding them very dear. It is an unimaginable crime! Death is too good for these SOB’s. I keep coming back to the thought that this sounds more like a recounting of something that happened during the Holocaust, rather than recently in the U.S. No amount of money can even begin to compensate the pet’s families for this tragedy. Personally, I think that they should be tied up and shot as well, giving the pet parents the opportunity to do so if they desire. Since that won’t happen, I would like to see the names of these criminals published and see them hunted to the ends of the earth. If they do wind up in prison, I hope their fellow inmates do them “justice”. Surely, God must have a special place for these ba$tards!

Those bums deserve to be punished for killing those innocent animals. I’d be happy to sit on the jury for that trial. My heart breaks for the animals who ran up to the trucks looking for company and a little scratch on the head, just to be greeted with “BANG”! Those bastards deserve to be thrown in jail. Should they ever go to jail, I hope their fellow convicts kick their asses!!

Glad you felt the need to apologize but then had to finish it off with “I didn’t realize he was a regular poster.” Does not make a difference regular or not. You were off base and got called on it, then tried to defend yourself and when that still wouldn’t fly, chose to make that last statement. If you wanna run with the pack you have to contribute not detract from it.

Now back to the subject of all those poor pets and their humans they were forced to leave behind thru no fault of their own.

sorry to get off the current topic but

THANK YOU THANK YOU Itchmo for posting this–SOOO few people know about the horrors that went on there, at least this will bring it out to a group that cares.

Also, thank you K9Rescue for posting Pasado’s web page on it–this is where I read it several months ago, took me a long time to get through it & was horrified & in tears & incredibly angry the whole time. This group is great in general, but really special for what they’re doing to fight this terrible injustice & try to make them pay for it.

Please everyone look at their website & read the full story. Be prepared to have your anger at this increase 100 fold. There are really evil people in charge of our lives right now!!!

Okay guys, let’s all play nice please. We’re all here because we care about our pets and all animals. We get alot more done and accomplished when we’re not fighting with each other. My hat is off to anyone involved in solving the Katrina problem and hope those involved in creating it will, like I said, die and rot you know where.
Another sad point with the Katrina deal is all the non-pet animals that lost their lives and all the landscape that will take years to recover. Such a huge loss all the way around, including American’s faith that our government will take care of us. Hmrph!

Bridgett, you must be new here if you are referring to Menusux as a troll. Menu has put the most wonderful information and links on this blog. Maybe you need to do some research before you start calling our contributors here names. If they can’t vent here, where can they vent? We are people who get foul, yes, FOUL, over mistreatment of animals. And if it was mercenaries, cops, national guard, I don’t care. They are paid with our money by officials who should be impeached.

Not I am not justifying what they did at all. It is called sarcasm.

How could you read into my statement that I would be justifying this cruelty in anyway? Did I not say that the cops thought the dog were valueless? If they did, it isn’t to much of a stretch too imagine that they would have a little fun, in their minds, by torturing the dogs before they shot them.

My saying something like that doesn’t imply in anyway that I feel the same as they do. It’s sarcasm.
