Blackfoot

Top: Baxter — “Baxter is completely exhausted after attending the Texas Rangers game. The Rangers have a “Dog Days” event where you can bring your dog to the ballpark. There were 230 dogs in attendance. Unfortunately we forgot to take the camera. Oh well….there’s another event in August and maybe we’ll get some great shots then.” Pic sent in by Jan

Bottom: In memory of Blackfoot. “We lost our beloved Jack Russell terrier, Blackfoot, a year ago to a highly poisonous and rare Mojave rattlesnake in our backyard in Scottsdale, Arizona. He was not only a beautiful and talented dog, but a great friend and companion.” Pic sent in by Nicholas

The first two sweeties are making me jealous for a nap! I’m so sorry for the loss of Blackfoot. He even looks like he was special as well a handsome.

Very sorry about Blackfoot - we have rattlesnakes in our immediate area (though not on our land) and we have to be ever vigilant with our dogs, as they are German shorthairs, a hunting breed that hunts up everything, and probably wouldn’t hestiate to sniff a snake.

I am wondering, though - I have never seen a Jack Russell with this coloring. In fact, it is more the coloring of my GSPs than a typical Russell - I think he was a beautiful animal.

Oops, I should say the ticking reminds me of my dogs. Mine are liver and white, with ticking and a dark liver head, not black. I have only seen brown and white JRT, with spots not ticking.

Sorry to hear about Blackfoot. That is so scary. In your backyard!

Definitely a reminder to me to watch out for Daisy. We ran into a Western Diamondback just two weeks ago on one of our walks in the foothills. No more running around off-leash for Daisy until the snakes go back to sleep in the fall.

Awwww Blackfoot was a beauty. I’m so sorry you lost him that way.
