These people are just as sick as dog fighters. Animal abuse is animal abuse. We just don’t need these kind of people in our society.

“Culture” affiliation doesn’t make any animal abuse acceptable at all in my book, I don’t care where in the world this goes on. [I am not implying that MaineMom thinks a cultural affiliation makes it ok. I’m betting she’s she as disgusted as all of us.] I haven’t read up on the Filipino connection, but I do know that there is a lot of cockfighting involving Mexicans in the San Diego area.

Lynn, this cockfighting operation was owned and run by Filipinos - just like those in Hawaii; it’s a totally unacceptable part of their culture.

This is a huge problem in the US, particularly close to the Mexican border. Too appalling for words. Shut down all these rings and throw the SOB’s in the slammer for life. On second thought, that’s too good for them.

Cockfighting is every bit as heinous as dogfighting and I’m pleased that these people will be prosecuted. Chickens, even hens, are fierce fighters and these birds really suffer. How anyone can see this as being entertainment is beyond me.
