Why do we need to wait til 2008 to start COOL? It is a law and ready to go NOW - stop holding it up. We next want INFORMED CONSENT thanks to CodyBear's idea on the forum. That is the only way to go - these two together!

E: I love this idea.....however, pls use his esteemed title "The Honorable Andrew C. von Eschenbach".........aaaaarrrrrrrggggghhhhh, I have to be sick again for the second time today. He's about as honorable as the devil himself. Has about as much conscience too.

I, myself, think cyanuric acid and acetaminophen would do just fine for Andy, and maybe some formaldehyde for dessert.

The President could not have appointed a better man that would keep the poisons flowing!

I did very much enjoy this part

Barton (Texas) speaks:

-when we have a problem in this country, we try and solve it with civil means, hopefully we won’t come to what China did by executing their ex-chief of the food and drug admin

At least he left the option open.
I know a few heads I would like to see on a stick!

I think a sharp stick inserted in the severed head of Andrew C. von Eschenbach would improve his looks immensely and I volunteer to chop up the rest of his no doubt well fed carcass so we could see how many liars Menu Foods can get into a can. Put it up for auction on Ebay and I bet we could get enough to make a dent in the vet bills the pet food companies are not paying!

Durn ,the 4 months of lying and covering up is turning me into a bloodthirsty old bat, isn't it? And all that stuff we all learned about poison, do you think it is safe for folks as mad as we are to know? Andy better get himself a food taster if he ever eats out at a place were the cook used to have a pet!
I admit that if I was doing the cooking for a bunch of the PFI I would be mighty tempted to season the meal with a touch of FDA approved melamine.

Maureen thanks for telling us about C-SPAN3.
Itchmo thanks for all your hard work.
Katie I'n like you a loss for words except I'm mad as hell. Yesterday with Iams and today's hearing all I want to do is throw up. I"ll remember yesterday (my birthday & Iam's who killed my babies) and today's hearing for the rest of my life. Who's America?

Like one blogger said on Pet Connection.com--we are under attack.
President, save our food safety, but do not send another "Brownie" like you just did to head the FDA.

Hope I live to see the day when I do not feel like a subject of the "King" and when the country is for the good of the people, run by the people and have justice for all!

Dogmom 3, We are totally on our own, AND we don't have the tools at our disposal to find out what country our food comes from! Hubbard was trying to complicate the issue by making it sound as if the 2002 COOL law would mandate ALL ingredients to be listed as to COOL, but that seafood was easy, because it was a "whole food"!

Well, excuse me, but the 2002 law only pertains to whole foods! Fruits and veggies, meat and peanuts! Not that I am opposed to labeling the ingredients in a product as to COOL. That should be the next step in this food fight.

A dept of Commerce (?) regulation requires that imported foods, such as canned olives, etc. clearly label the product as to COOL now. (I am not sure of the govt agency that requires this, I just know it isn't one of the Food agencies, and it seemed a strange agency for the requirement)
