Man Accused Of Feeding Cats To Pit Bulls

A Georgia man has been charged with aggravated cruelty to animals for capturing neighborhood kittens and cats and feeding them to his pit bulls.
The warrant charges that Tye Hilmo “did give injured live cats and kittens to his pit bull dogs and let the pit bulls kill the already injured cats and kittens. Hilmo would capture and injure neighborhood cats for this purpose.”
Authorities acted after receiving an anonymous tip that Hilmo had been capturing cats for his dogs to kill. The tipster also said Hilmo was preparing his pit bulls for dog fighting. Investigators said they do not have enough evidence to charge Hilmo with dog fighting.
Investigators found the bodies of two kittens near Hilmo’s house. They also found evidence on his cell phone: a picture of one of his pit bulls and a dead kitten, and beneath the picture, a caption that says “Good Dog.”
Aggravated cruelty to animals is a felony, and if convicted, Hilmo can face one to five years in prison and a fine of up to $15,000.
Hilmo was already in jail on drug, firearm and probation violation charges.

I remember some people making a big deal out of Michael Vick being black. This barbarity cuts across racial lines, economical lines, etc. Someone once said there are only two kinds of people: the decent and the indecent. I couldn’t agree more.

This scum has no compassion for cats and that crosses over to all living creatures. Him causing injury to those poor cats first, before letting the dogs kill them also accounts for extreme torture of animals and I hope this guy gets what is PHYSICALLY coming to him in ways too horrific to describe. How the authorities cannot also charge him with preparing his dogs for fighting is also an outrage. If I was an owner of one of those cats, he would not want ME to get ahold of him. I would have no mercy.

Anyone know if the owners of the cats can directly sue him for damages, or if the fines at all go to help them?
As horrific as this is, you have to wonder how much worse it is for a “mommy” who just hoped her kitty had gotten out and was living “wild”. to know your cat was intentinally hurt, then fed to a dog to be played with before eating would just live in my heart forever.
It’s hard losing a pet, a child, a loved one. but finding out they were tortured before they died has to be just beyond rationality.

This just goes to show dog fighting has nothing to do with race. It has to do with being a horrible human being with no conscience. Sheer evil.

I live in a town less than 10 mi. from where this pathetic piece of protoplasm (PPP) resides. Needless to say, there is much publicity about this beyond horrific discovery. My heart goes out to the cat & kitten owners whose pets were subjected to such unthinkable suffering.
How heartbreaking is it to hear that “He was getting the kittens and cats from the neighborhood,” said Stacey Bourbonnais of the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office. “And he was injuring those kittens and cats before he was giving them to the pit bull to maul and kill.”
The initial search of the PPP’s home & property was in response to a tip about possible dog fighting. As some of you will recall, the Gwinnett County Sheriff recently was in the news for his offer of $10,000 of his own money for any dog fighting tip that led to arrest & conviction.

I do not understand how a man that has a dog can take another helpless creature and feed it to his pet. How can anyone watch an animal suffer like this? I cannot stand to even see a mouse suffer.
It is our responsibility as the more intelligent creatures to take care of the less intelligent ones.
People like this should not exist! They could be a danger to everyone and everything that they choose not to care about!

This guy is total garbage. Glad someone turned him in. Alot of animal abuse is happening now in connection with gang initiations. Atlanta has seen alot and Nashville is terrible now. There was an incident this week where about 8 people beat and then set fire to both a cat and a possum. Then these devils stood around watching and throwing bricks at these defenseless creatures. Fortunately, a surveillance camera caught it all on tape and it’s being enhanced for prosecution.

I say the law is wayyy to easy on people who are truly cruel. Let’s give them a little taste of their own medicine and see how THEY like it. Let’s stick his hand in a pen with something that’ll eat it up. Let that be a constant reminder to him. People who abuse animals so savagely should be terrified for the rest of their lives.
Guys that do ths stuff think they’re just SOOO cool and so studly and macho. He probably thought it was just so funny. And, it doesn’t surprise me that he’s already been serving time for a litany of other charges involving drugs, firearms and other stuff.

Not much of a leap from murdering innocent kittens to doing violence to a woman, a child, an elderly person…anyone deemed “vulnerable” by this monster. Or has he been doing it already? The correlation between violence to animals and violence to human beings has been well established. I despair when I hear stories like this, a reminder of what kinds of people are out in the world today.

This makes me wanna go out and kill a pitbull dog, then take its remains to the butcher shop. For some time now I have imagined feeding dog meat to my cats. I wonder if dog meat is legal in the US. Im so glad though that its Dogs, and not cats, that get eaten in east asia(and even france). What I hate about dogs is both the fac that they are threatning and dangerous AND that they are social animals.To me, they were bred for exploitation by mankind.
Now as for the guy: I say lock him in a 4-man cell with 3 black gang members so he gets the shit raped out of his ass!! :ROFL

Anton, you don’t get it. It is never the dog’s fault, and always the person’s. Dogs aren’t born evil, they are born with instincts, NOT intentions, and one of their strongest instincts is to be “mans’ best friend”. Assholes create mean dogs out of poodles. I live in GA, abut 30-40 miles away from this asshole. I hope that GA changes its laws about dogfighting, so that the therapeutic value of prison life can be taught to ASSHOLES like this. (NO PUN INTENDED!!)

If he captured one of my 2 cats and fed them to his dog I’d Kill the dog(both to spite him and to avenge my cats death)and most likely take the dead pooch to an asian butcher shop and pay them to carve it up. The I’d take home the meat, eat it for dinner, and feed the leftovers to the neighborhood cats :)

Dee, you have a valid point there. But the thing is that NOT all dogs and dogbreeds are “man’s best friend”. Certain dogbreeds were Not bred to be ‘pets’! The pit bull is a good example: they were originally used for dogfighting and so they were deliberately bred for their aggression. The same is also true of most mastiff breeds. So I dont think I can ever view pitbulls and anything but threatning and dangerous until careful breeders can “breed out” their aggression-as they did with the english mastiff.

i have three pitbulls and they are great dogs. But it is guys like this that make pitbulls look so bad. i so agree with that. If you fight pitbulls of course they are going to be mean. All of my dogs have never bitten a soil and still everyone is scared of them because people like to pull stunts like this.
