A Long Island man has been accused of starving his 3-year-old cocker spaniel and then tried to take the dog to an animal shelter saying that it wasn’t his. The animal shelter was suspicious when he brought in the dog, Bailey, because of his emaciated condition. Following an investigation, the man admitted that he owned Bailey and was charged with aggravated cruelty to animals which is punishable up to four years in prison. At first, Bailey was only 19 pounds but now Bailey is recovering and is 36 pounds and will be up for adoption soon.
