Man Put Behind Bars For Starving His Dog

A 22-year-old Michigan man has been sentenced to serve ninety days in jail for starving his 2-year-old German shepherd to death. The dog remained caged in his apartment without any food, water or any of the medication that the dog needed. He then illegally buried the dog against city and state regulations. After the man’s sentence, he will also have to perform 500 hours of community service and is also responsible for $5,000 of fines and fees. The man will be on probation until May 2010 and will not be able to live with or take care of an animal.

I think it’s a good thing that they do punish people for their cruelty to pets…but to deliberately (you should know when your dog is starving)starve your dog…I just think he should have gotten more than 90 days. Years ago, when I was in my early 20s,a friend of my husband just got out of jail(like a 30 or 60 day sentence) for tying the neighbors cat up on a clothesline by his tail and lighting him on fire!! For something that sick…they oughtta get more than just 30,60,or 90 days….at least 6 months.

I can think of another punishment for this man. It begins with a cage …

(Seriously, I’d never advocate cruel treatment of anyone because two wrongs don’t make a right. The best thing we can all do is spread the word about humane treatment and serve as examples ourselves.)

He should at least be fed dog food the entire time he is in jail. Recalled pet food

Someone who does this is a danger to society. sociopaths and serial killer often start out as animal torturers.

I think 90 days incarceration is fair…under the same conditions as the dog had, tied up with not food. Maybe allow him water so he lasts long enough to suffer as long as the dog did.

How about no food or water during his 90 days, and while he’s there, no outdoor activity, no sun light, no communication with anyone and no TV, radio, internet, etc.

If he did this to a child, he’d be in jail for a lot longer.

A friend of mine at Catster? HER cat was kidnapped and then she found her body in her driveway. She had been drowned in salt water. Another friend of mind at Dogster? She was on vacation and only left her car for a few minutes. When she got back it was stolen with her puppy inside. They found the car but no puppy.

If anyone near the area of Washington State has found a little black and tan puppy please let me know!

Why are people so cruel to animals?!
