Man Saves Abandoned Drowning Dog

Fish

Alexander Graham not only saved a dog from drowning but also gave her a new loving home.

Graham rushed to save a dog when his wife opened the blinds at home and saw a dog in a canal drowning. He got in his car and drove to where he could get to the dog easier.

He saw that the dog was getting weak from trying to swim and he jumped in. While holding the dog, Graham thought that the dog was a lot heavier than she looked.

When Graham and the dog finally got back to shore, he saw that there was an electrical cord wrapped around her body which was tied to a cement block. The dog was also covered in parasites.

Graham and his wife brought the dog to an animal hospital, and the dog was given antibiotics to fight off the parasites. She was also examined for any serious injuries, and luckily, the dog did not sustain any major injuries.

The couple decided to adopt the dog and dubbed her “Fish” because she was fished out of water. She is doing well now and goes on daily walks with Graham.

Graham said, “The funny thing is, last year on 8 January I had a heart attack so now there are two people living in my house that should not be here today.”

What kind of sick “human” would do that to a dog?

The proverbial “gun” jammed twice for this family and there are reasons beyond anything we can rationalize as to why things like this happen. Thank God for these wonderful endings. The Grahams have much to look forward to. Bless you all.

    Very well put petrescue Florida!

Just wondering…has anyone else noticed the scars on this dog in the picture?
I cant help but wonder if she was treated this way because she was not ‘game’ enough to fight other dogs, for some jerk?

Sounds just like something a ‘vick’ would do…

  12. Stefani says:

Oh, bless you guys. Thank you so much for having a big heart, saving this poor obviously mistreated dog, and giving her love. You are the kind of people that give me faith in the world. Thank you so much.

    Stefani

  13. Denise says:

Poodlluver you are so right. Just when I read something else like this and think how bad alot of people are I have to remember that there are still good people like the man that saved this pup. There are reasons its seems for everything. This man is a good man and I know this dog will have the best life now. I read all of your post and all of you think like I do so we know there are still good people like us around and MR. Graham too. Vick would do this I think Poodlluver hit on something. Hugs and Kisses to Fish pup to a happy and healthy life. Denise and pup Missy

  14. Chuck U. Farley says:

Fish is very, very lucky indeed that this kind man who saved her happened along when he did.

As for the person (and I use that term VERY loosely) who tied her to a concrete block and threw her in a canal, I hope you die a slow, lonely death by drowning in a cesspool. It’s where you should be because you are a piece of sh!t.

  15. Goody 4 Paws says:

Oh my, Chuck U. Farley! Please don’t wish something so bad on an innocent cesspool!!!

Way to go Graham family and YAY FISH!!!! Love and hugs to you. We are out there…the loving ones…we are!

  17. Marjorie says:

Here’s hoping that there is a “special” place in hell for Fish’s original owner. I can’t imagine trying to drown a dog, especially by throwing it into a canal tied to a concrete block!!! What is wrong with some people???

  18. Lynne says:

Fish’s original owner is already in hell: disconnected from life, set apart from the joy the universe has to offer, blind to the love in a dog’s eyes and heart.

What could be more hellish than that? Here’s hoping the person wakes up from the nightmare he has created for himself.

  19. furmom says:

I’m at a loss for words. I hope someone can find out who the monster is that did that to Fish, who is already in hell. I hope the thought of this innocent dog, when they threw her in, haunts them till the day they die.

  20. pheephee35 says:

    Lynne you said it all!

  21. Me says:

I for one am touched by this. I am a sucker for animals, especially dogs. I could never phathom why someone would do this to any animal with such an adorable face. As it has been stated, I am sure Fish knows very well how lucky she is to be here and enjoy her life as it should be. Guaranteed Fish will NEVER forget how lucky she is and appreciate Mr. and Mrs. Graham and family and give endless love. A dog naturally loves unconditionally so imagine how happy she is to be alive. Thank you for this happy ending. The world is full of pain and when I read this it makes me smile.
