AZSue, I concur with your assessment. However, we don't refer our lit' mutt terrier as neither a doggie nor a child but 'That's our boy!" :-D

I love my cat, but it drives me crazy when people refer to pets as “children.” I am pretty sure my cat did not come out of my vajayjay.

Dear anonymouse:

Try not to waste any more of your precious moments on earth "being driven crazy" as you state above, about how others refer to their pets. Dr. Wayne Dyer wrote a book in the 1970s that you might like to read...it's called, "Your Erroneous Zones." These are the Zones that keep you from having a wonderful, stress free life. And "Control" is a really big Zone! Everyone has to work on that one. My 79 year old Dad hasn't even conquered it yet! (sigh) But, he refers to my 2 cats as his grandkitties, and with all of the medical stuff he is currently going through, it tickles me to see him smile when he calls them that.

As I get older I realize that it is the little things in life that really matter...i.e., don't sweat the small stuff. Don't worry about what others do and say that you can't control! Let everyone refer to their pets as they want to...while you refer to yours as you want to! Trying to control what you can't will surely "drive you crazy!" And in the end is it really worth upsetting yourself over something so trivial? ...Sue

Here's my cat Bear:
http://www.tombihn.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=001&Category_Code=BEAR

Bear now eats Orijen and Wellness dry foods (mixed for variety's sake) + Innova or Wellness wet food + nitrate-free organic turkey breast (for a treat).

He likes to sleep on the pillow above my head, with his paws wrapped lightly around my head ... every time I move my head a smidgen, he begins purring.
