Marlene Todd, a South Dakota woman, simply wanted to enjoy a dip in her jacuzzi on a cold morning.
When she just had gotten into the hot tub, she heard a noise behind her — it was a mountain lion four inches away.
Todd said, “It just took a leap. It jumped on the side of the hot tub. We locked eyes, and it kicked off of the hot tub and ran away. When it jumped, it flipped my robe into the hot tub.”
She quickly dashed inside the house and called the police. Authorities predicted that the mountain lion was staying near the hot tub to keep warm.
After the encounter, Todd stated, “I didn’t need caffeine this morning, I know that. Now that it’s said and done, I’ve gotten a close personal look at a lion. It could have been way bad, if it would have slipped and fell in the tub with me.”
She added, “I now know what a goldfish feels like in a bowl when the cat is looking at it.”
