I, too, use Mesosilver colloidal silver - with great results.

I've used it successfully against skin infection, strep throat, and a couple of other issues preemptively.

Currently, I have an illness - maybe the flu, maybe just a cold, but I suspect the flu. I have my Mesosilver out on my desk, I'll probably be better tomorrow ;-)

The quickest recoveries:

#1 Strep throat:
I gargled with colloidal silver twice, with a warm salty water gargle before hand to aid in absorption. I could literally feel the infection "die out" in my upper throat!

#2 Skin infection:
I had been fighting an odd skin infection for a couple weeks, having tried everything. I did some research and bought Mesosilver for the first time. I was skeptical but the pain was terrible. I decided if it was to work, it would be with the longest possible duration of contact, so I soaked some bandages in the Mesosilver and then wrapped my leg with the bandages providing a good border around the infection, I then sealed the bandaging in order to prevent evaporation.

The very next morning, I took the bandage off to consider whether or not I should wrap it again with Mesosilver, or go back to the big pharma way. I couldn't see any infection at all! Nada. In fact, I had almost completely healed!! I wrapped it again anyway - with Mesosilver.

Good stuff!

More general infections will not be cured by colloidal silver, but they will be lessened. It appears it takes a few minutes for a nano-silver particle to strangle a virus or bacterium, so you have to flush yourself - gently ( which I'll be doing now ).

I don't do anything profitable with the stuff, it costs me out the @$$, but is well worth it when the alternatives don't work. And, it is E.P.A. approved for environmental sterilization - in hospitals. And nothing seems to be able to build a resistance to it!

I am concerned that people actually believe that "all raw meat" has salmonella. That is simply untrue. I think it is possible to feed a raw diet without salmonella. I have had a dog with salmonella poisoning and I can assure you it was a costly, scary mess. I simply am not comfortable saying the recall doesn't count if it happens to a raw food company. I will be boycotting BRAVO in the same way I boycott the chicken treats I used to buy (by the bagful) that were recalled for salmonella last year.

Good morning all.
I hope you and your pet families are all doing as well as possible under the circumstances.
Haven't posted for a few days for lack of time but recall reading a post from someone about china's continuing hate of the US and how he suspected that a lot of this poisining and tainted produce is deliberate. Given china's political views of the rest of the world and their hope for dominance this would not surprise me at all. How the hell and why our own government is supporting china by continued trade with a communist country is beyond me.....especially one whose hope is to ultimately defeat us.....and what better way to do this than through poisened food et all.
One of the leading contributors to the health and wealth of china is our good ol friends at china world aka wally world. I find myself wondering just how much of china's gnp is complimentary of wal mart. china marts continued trading with china proper under the circumstances leaves one to wonder. I suspect that china mart alone could cause a change in policy on the mainland. But alas, the good ol $$$$$ rules and we will continue to see more junk on the shelves of china mart. We will continue to see more tainted dog, people food and toys on the shelves of china mart------unfortunately is't becoming more and more difficult to find crap that is NOT made in china in ANY box store.
HOWEVER. As a united people we can cause that to change.
A concentrated boycott of one chain just may have enough of an effect to make someone sit up and listen.
I realize this latest recall is not china mart originated but it gives one pause for thought-------------I hope.
If not, lemme spell it out for ya.
china is STILL to this day an enemy of the US. I don't give a flying s*** what you might have heard or been told.

It looks like Mesosilver is a brand name for colloidal silver. This is not a homeopathic remedy. I personally don't use colloidal silver, though I know people who do.

Donna,

Please tell me how you administered the meosilver to your cats since they are so finicky. I have many cats and some not too healthy. My pretty boy is losing so much weight, did take him to the vet who insisted on checking his blood. He has been having diarrhea and so has my oldest cat, the littlest cat in the world, diarrhea, drinking a lot, poor appetite.

could you tell me a little about this meosilver? I just paid a homeopathic vet $200. for a phone consultation. He asked me questions and then told me a remedy to give him if he didn't get better in one week. I believe in alternate medicine but who can afford it?

Appreciate any help you can give.

Maybe it's time to ask Natural Solutions Foundation to also protect raw pet food and alternative health care choices for our pets. I want to ensure that good quality raw pet foods are always available for our pets - not out of business because of an FDA witch hunt. We need a petition and raw pet food advocacy to ensure these food sources and co-ops remain available.

Why aren't they targeting the chicken treats that have been giving dogs kidney failure since last year?

If the FDA were so concerned about animal safety, they should rescue all the animals from IAMS abuses and cruelty in their research labs.

Cats have more acidic digestive tracts to be able to handle small amts of salmonella. I've been feeding raw for 5+ years with no problems. In fact, thank god for raw. It was the ONLY thing that cured my kitten of IBD - and the no poop smell and fresh breath - all great benefits too.

It's true tho, that the FDA would like to shut down the raw pet food industry in favor of big pet food conglomerates. I'd go back to feeding my cats meat from Whole Foods before I'd do that - they are doing great on Bravo. It's more likely that people can contract salmonella from lettuce or spinach than pets contracting salmonella poisoning from a reputable brand like Bravo.

Traci says, I doubt feral cats are toasting mice or pigeons over campfires. Maybe when they finally grow opposable thumbs…”Quest for Fire” featuring cats dressed in rodent hides and bird down?

I hope Pixar picks up this idea!! I'd love to see this movie!!

But Cathie, like was said all meat has salmonella in it. but the processed food companies put chemicals, additives and preservatives in our pets food. A little salmonella doesn't hurt but melamine is not natural and is an ingredient in antifreeze. What justification is there for that? That is why the kibble companies get slammed.

I had two cats become very sick. Not food related. Best of care at home and vet care. No improvements three months of various antibiotics . One was suspect for cancer. Antibiotics failed to give inprovements in both cats .I tried a treatment from 1930. Amazed at the improvements. My classified terminal, not eating 19 year cat, is eating and playing ! My younger girl, with chronic infection, no longer infected. My research, has led to to go away from traditional antibiotics. Very impressed with mesosilver.Recently,I was suspect for a heart infection, due to dental work.I was extremely sick, too the point of fevers and feebleness and extreme dizziness.I am the hardy type, never ill. This infection took me down.I started my self on the mesosilver.recovery started in four days.I wanted to share this with the group, it worked for me.I have no involments with any companies.I just research and find remedies that save lives with OUT harming the patients. Research.............too keep you and your fur kids safe. And take no "experts" word as gospel.Big pharma has killed more patients, than it has saved.Blessings to itchmo.Awesome site !

I totally agree, Jerry! And I think Gina at PetConnection.com said it best (note that she does not feed raw, last I heard):

"...if anyone uses this recall as 'evidence' that raw diets are dangerous, I'm going go to ask them to click on the 1,985,985.357 words we've written since March on rolling recalls of processed products and remind them that people in glass houses should keep their mouths shut. Or open those mouths and speak up for greater safety in our food-supply system."

(from http://www.petconnection.com/blog/2007/09/19/bravo-issues-voluntary-recall-of-poultry-products/ )

I'd much rather feed my pet something with Salmonella in it than something with melamine in it. Note that pretty much every time there's a recall for pet food or treats for Salmonella, they almost always say "there have been no known illnesses in pets from these products". Certainly can't say the same thing for the melamine fiasco...

(from http://www.petconnection.com/b.....-products/ )

I’d much rather feed my pet something with Salmonella in it than something with melamine in it. Note that pretty much every time there’s a recall for pet food or treats for Salmonella, they almost always say “there have been no known illnesses in pets from these products”. Certainly can’t say the same thing for the melamine fiasco…

Jerry,

I've been feeding raw diets for 5+ years and have never had a prob. both pre-prepared and home prepared. And i buy the same chickens that bravo uses for myself and my pets. none of use have ever gotten sick. and i'm not as hand washy/anti-bacterial soap as they would like us to be. could it be healthy immune systems that haven't been rendered useless by commercial crap and fear of germs/bacterial?! ;)

Traci, you crack me up! i can just imagine the ferals around the campfire!

Cheryl, I do raw eggs also. Nothing like dropping an egg and NOT being afraid to have my dog (or a couple of my cats!) clean it up for me! lol!~ they do a MUCH better job than i do. my youngest kitty is just drawn to eggs. and this was before i introduced him to them. like a radar! he was about 9 wks old and first went for an eggshell when i was cooking to clean it out.

*note, all eggs are free range and not from large producers.
