it's true- hartz has been murdering pets with it's flea products for many years. the government actually covertly ' went after' them because of these poisonings and they made some closed door deal that largely protected hartz from public scrutiny on any large scale. they are a case book example of how the government DOES NOT justly deal with businesses that in common sense are criminally liable for poisoning and sickening pets and people. hartz violated laws pertaining to controlled poisons and chemicals and pretty much nothing happened to them. why have the laws if you refuse to enforce them?

anyone who cares about their pet's health should think twice before using any hartz product. 1 minute of googling is all it takes to get a few facts about these companies.

OMG. I can't believe these clowns are still in business. They've been killing pets for DECADES! Honestly--what a surprise THIS is.

*not*

When will people who hate animals just get a clue and get out of the animal business? Really.

*grumble*

It's business as usual for ALL companies. Not just food and not just pets.
Get the offending stuff in house and burn it to prevent more law suits or having to do the right thing by making a quality product, tested 100%, in the first place.
There's just no pride in creating anything any more. The only thing that matters to the executives is whether they get the share price up high enough before they bail
We've all seen it in other industries like the airlines and mortgage companies (Countrywide anyone?)
I don't blame the folks who do the actual work, no way. I do blame the people running these companies who could care less about their consumers. If they made good and safe products they wouldn't need to lawyer up in order to save their butts.

RE: "Hartz is taking immediate steps to recover this product from consumers.... they should immediately discontinue use of the product and discard it in a proper manner."

Yeah, that's the usual scam from these criminals. Snag the evidence and destroy it, before the affected pet owners can hire an attorney. Spoliation of evidence is supposed to be good for a couple decades in a Federal prison, but for some reason it's just business as usual as far as pet food companies are concerned.

Hartz is a long time member in very good standing of the PFI, expect Duane to start spinning and lying .
Making poison and lame excuses is what PFI members do best. Making decent pet food? not so much.
