There was a chair reserved next to him for Nelson, his black cat, in the Cabinet Room and dining room. Winston loved cats, and among his cats was Bob, a black and white cat, who waited for him at the steps of #10 and Mr. Kat aka Tango, with whom he discussed political issues. His other cats included Margate, an adopted stray and Jock, a ginger tom given him on his eighty-eighth birthday. And yes, despite everything, the world was a much better place! Bridget -
