Martin, the cyanuric acid is what gives it that special twang. Gnight
May 24th, 2007 at 12:28 am
Helen,
Oh No, NEVER! Their Own Butt and Everyone Else’s Butt has only the finest ingredients and totally, absolutely, certifiably Organic. YUM….tastes just like chicken……used to taste.
Cats go wild for it! (cept Martin’s cat….she doesn’t “do” cat butt)

my gut says NB.
i think purina will use their power to hush it up if they have more issues.
i think purina is just really low quality garbage, not necessarily poison.
i’ll just have to watch my cats extra close now that they are eating the wellness, so far so good they’ve had 5 cans
Ever since my kitties had a negative reaction to a sample of so called safe NB i just have a bad feeling about all their dry right now
May 24th, 2007 at 12:31 am
Elliot,
Which one do ‘you’ think?
And of course we don’t want to think about it but we do esp. if we are or have been feeding.
May 24th, 2007 at 12:31 am
We could do ANY sort of toy. Blow-up, stuffed, rubber, plastic. Chickens, Pigs, Fish, Bees {what am I forgetting at this point?!}
We could write on them or attach a note that say MELA-_____ whatever.
I thought Chickens to be particularly good due to the Chickens Here feed Melamine AND the Chickens the Chinese Government *Wants to Send Here*, for us to Eat, from now on.
Geees if we could only find rubber BUTTS! LMBO
May 24th, 2007 at 12:31 am
We at Their Own Butt always give free samples because we know, one taste of Their Own Butt, and your cat will lose all interest in that steak you are eating.
May 24th, 2007 at 12:32 am
FDA–federal depopulation association. Looks like they are working on it! Chinese Chickens make perfect sense if you are trying to add one more contaminated, possibly disease infected food item to the American Supply.
USDA–Unethical Stamp of Diluted Approval
EPA–environmental plundering association. Let’s allow the planting of even more GM crops and GM flowering eucalyptus trees in Alabama. What’s next? Drain a few more wetlands in once lovely Florida.
I still want to know what levels the USDA considers safely diluted…….Anyone?

“Free samples are always available at Yourpetsbutt.com”
OK, that one really did make me Laugh Out Loud.
May 24th, 2007 at 12:35 am
Something that would fit in the $4.50? Priority Postal Envelopes?
Not horribly expensive for the toy or the postage.
May 24th, 2007 at 12:35 am
YaYa, if you laughed your butt off, you could just pack it up and send IT.
May 24th, 2007 at 12:36 am
yaya, why bother they will just repackage them and sell them as their pet toys and make money off of us.
May 24th, 2007 at 12:38 am
Kellie, they won’t if we write all our nasty comments all over them with a SHARPIE. :D
May 24th, 2007 at 12:38 am
YaYa,
I would only be interested in sending real chickens for the SMELL factor effect. Especially if I could get some of those delicious cooked chickens from China. By the time they reached the FDA, they would make a really impressive statement, don’t cha think. I would still want to include a fresh litter box specimen, also, just so my kitties can have their say in the matter.
May 24th, 2007 at 12:40 am
If they resold them, they would have to send them all to China to be packaged and then send them back.
May 24th, 2007 at 12:40 am
Don’t know about Purina to be exact. Too many talking about probs with the food. Why no “voluntary” recalls on Purina’s behalf. Something smells here IMO.
May 24th, 2007 at 12:40 am
** wishing she could send a big chunk of her own butt **
May 24th, 2007 at 12:42 am
Genny, I think homeland security would come after us if we sent the FDA rotten chicken with bird flu in it. :(
May 24th, 2007 at 12:42 am
Elliott,
So your melacrystal gut is whispering Purina??
May 24th, 2007 at 12:43 am
NOW We Talkin’ Helen! ROTFLMBO!
Sending LMBO to em!
May 24th, 2007 at 12:43 am
Of course we could then just say the FDA let it in the country in the first place, so how are we supposed to know it wasn’t safe?
May 24th, 2007 at 12:44 am
Helen,
It would be a good test to see if homeland security does ANYTHING!
May 24th, 2007 at 12:45 am
Helen,
“’so how are we supposed to know it wasn’t safe?”"
Fess up. Are you an atty or just play one on blogs??
May 24th, 2007 at 12:46 am
dang, i loved take out chinese food too but no more if they import the meat illegally from chinese chickens.
ok so lets run the list
no chicken or fish for awhile, no chinese food, no non usa vitamins(if i can find any) checking toothpaste origins. no processed grain containing foods for me or pets. basically no food from china at all.
gawd what am i gonna eat, lol.
guess im gonna lose some weight.
ITCHMO ADMIN: Kellie, is there any source that connects illegally imported chickens to Chinese food? I don’t recall seeing that. Thanks.
May 24th, 2007 at 12:46 am
Helen - Helen wheels - old Beatles song. Anyway, thank you for all the laffs tonight. Boy! Did that feel GUUD!! See ya morrow.
May 24th, 2007 at 12:48 am
We could try to get hold of those Chickens from that Raid in Detroit?!
Shipped as “catfish” from China under the radar.
Feathers?
May 24th, 2007 at 12:49 am
No Genny, not an atty. What I am now though is very tired and slap happy. I am going to pick up my cat, who is at this very moment licking her own butt, and go to bed giggling for once.
Thanks all, and good night to you.
May 24th, 2007 at 12:50 am
N’Nite, Elliott. Hope you wake w/o a melaover.
May 24th, 2007 at 12:50 am

May 24th, 2007 at 12:51 am
N’Nite Helen,
Gotta go frost my red melavelvet cake and keep my cats’ butts outta the frosting.
May 24th, 2007 at 12:53 am
YaYa,
They’re probably coming soon to a supermarket near you.
May 24th, 2007 at 12:55 am
Goodnite Helen. Don’t let the rubber chickens bite. :-P
May 24th, 2007 at 1:03 am

[…] Nutra Nuggets finally announces recall after test results come back positive. […]
May 24th, 2007 at 8:08 am
Alert —there is now a potential problem with Nutro Dry also please check out www.consumeraffairs.com on the right in blue read the post titled Pet owners blame Nutro products for their dogs illnesses. Consumeraffairs has validated the credibility of this claim. If you know anyone currently feeding Nutro dry dog food get this information to them so they can make their own informed decisions.
Please not I am not and this post is not confusioning this with the Nutra recall.

Thanks for this information. I warned a co-worker to be wary of Nutro. She had just bought a large bag trying to find something safe. She finally decided not to use it and eventually threw it out.
The reports at that link show all the dogs had very similar symptoms.
We know someone who lost a young kitten to sudden kidney failure last summer. The cat was fed Nutro max cat dry exclusively
May 24th, 2007 at 10:52 am
Your welcome, —-I shot an email off this morning to a half dozen people I know that are feeding Nutro dry so they could judge that report for themselves. I also emailed Itchmo directly and asked them to look into this and set up a link to this story as it is similar to the Nutra story. I was feeding my new pug pup Nutro dry when the recall started I decided I was not going to deal with any company that had any product on the recall list, so I switched to Blue Buffalo then they problems and recalls a month ago and I have since switched to Eagle Pack and are keeping my fingers crossed.
FYI depending on were the food was bought most pet stores gaurantee that your pet will like the food. All you have to do is say your dog did not like it and they will take it back opened or un-opened and give you a full refund I did that with the Nutro and the Blue at petsmart.
May 24th, 2007 at 11:00 am
andy121106, I thank you also for this link. It was Nutro Max dry chicken flavor that made my cat sick. Nutro denied this. Customer service was atrocious. My cat ate this food for years, but never never again.
May 24th, 2007 at 2:23 pm
OK, someone help me out here. What dry dog food for seniors would be considered safe? My boy is 8 years old, but as of today ihe is going off the Nutro Ultra for seniors. But I don’t know what I should now feed him?
May 24th, 2007 at 2:53 pm
Eagle Pack has a Senior formula check out www.eaglepack.com. I put my trust in them 6 weeks ago and I hope they are true to their statements on their web site.
May 24th, 2007 at 3:09 pm
andy121106,
Thanks for the update. It’s such a scary time for our furry family members, and I certainly don’t trust Nutro products any longer. In 32 years, I’ve had only two dogs and I don’t want to end up with none at the 33rd year!!! Gotta take action now………..
May 24th, 2007 at 3:34 pm
Uh, let me clarify my last statement about only two dogs in 32 years. Both of them have since crossed over to the Bridge. One was 17yrs and the other baby was 15yrs. My boy, who is 8 yrs, was just rescued not long ago, and I’d like to have him around this 33rd!
