Paris Hilton Has Zookeeper To Take Care Of Pets

Paris Hilton with petsParis Hilton has won numerous awards for being the worst celebrity pet owner in the world. (Britney Spears has also been a winner in this category.)

Why? Because Paris treats her dogs as accessories. Instead of allowing her dogs to be dogs, she seems to be more worried if her dog matches her shoes.

But Paris reassures the public that she is an animal lover. She said her animals make her really happy. Her collection of pets includes eleven dogs, three cats, three ferrets, two rabbits, and two monkeys.

Her dogs, cats, and rabbits are free to roam around the house, while her monkeys and ferrets live at her ranch. And she has someone to take care of all her pets.

Paris told Elle magazine: “I have this guy, Eric, who’s like a zookeeper, and he’s with them all the time. He loves them, and I love them, too. But since I work a lot I’m not always home.”

Well, at least she is making sure her animals are taken care of when she is away.

But Paris has gotten in trouble with animal authorities in the past. The first situation involved when she bought a kinkajou (a rainforest mammal). She had to give up Baby Luv (pictured here) because it is illegal to own one as a pet. In a second incident, she purchased a baby kangaroo in Australia as a pet. Sorry, Paris, no baby kangaroos to add to your collection of pets.

It’s not my place to judge how your pets are taken care of, as long as they are. Much better to expend energy where it might do some good.

IF she (and others like her) were truly lovers of animals, they would use their wealth and influence to make a difference for all animals instead of hoarding them and putting a “like a zoo keeper” in charge of them. Doesn’t work for me . . . sorry Paris, Britney, et al.

Funny, it’s illegal to keep ferrets as pets in California.

Wouldn’t that be a violation of her parole or something? :P

At the risk of stating the obvious, what a self-involved dimwit. Why not donate an amount equal to that zookeeper’s salary/fee to a few no-kill shelters or animal welfare organizations. I’m sure Ms. Hilton can afford both.

Maria- exactly. The local city shelter is small and crowded. Very few of the animals will ever walk out that door again.

Smaller, rural communities often can’t support proper shelters. They’re also one of the most affected by people that can afford pets but dump unwanted or “problem” animals rather than take the responsibility of finding them a good home.

Perhaps having owned ranch property Miss Hilton might be aware of that. If not it might be helpful for her ask around.

she could use a zookeeper for herself considering her repulsive public behavior. hose down the hoochie- lock it in it’s cage.

at least her animals are well taken care of not forced to smoke crack.

Mittens: you’re too funny [first paragraph].

I got a kick out of one sentence in the story: “She said her animals make her really happy.”

You know, I could care LESS if SHE’s happy. I would like to see the ANIMALS happy. Not convinced they are.

And for all we know, Eric the zookeeper is an 12 year-old kid who comes in once a day to feed and water them and leave. [Which is probably better than the attention they get from Hilton.]

Get real. She’s a narcissist. She only cares about HERSELF.

Oh yes, and while I’m at it…where’s this changed person since prison. I don’t see her. Would have been nice if you had done something to contribute to the welfare of animals.

In fact, I dare you, Ms. Hilton, to use your celebrity and go up to Oregon and get them to give Snowball back to her humans. [Hmmmmm…….don’t know who Snowball is, do you?]
