Dear MR. Bill Smith, I am a ten year old girl and I am desperate to stop puppy mills. I have a donation to give to you that is supposed to go to the animal shelter and I was wondering if I could help you? I was wondering if you could give me some information or an address to send my donation too. I am really determined to see puppy mills put to an end. By the way, the stuff you wrote was very cool and I also saw you on Oprah and that video made me cry my eyes out. It was sooooo sad! I have an uncle who is a police man and the next time I see him I am going to ask him if he can try to get me a petition for people to sign about puppy mills and once I run out of room, I will either send it to the Governor or the President. I already sent a letter to the Governor, and I would have sent a letter to the President, but I couldn’t find an e-mail address. Last thing, you know that I am not lying because of how long my letter is. I hope that you reply and tell me where you live. And if you do tell me that and e-mail me back that would be great!! Bill Smith is a credit to the Rescue community. He takes in dogs and cats that would never have a chance elsewhere. By virtue of having a large and well-funded facility he is able to rehabilitate animals that would be overlooked at local county shelters. He is generous with his time and has helped out smaller rescue groups when he can. He has been blessed with wonderful fundraisers and a very giving community in order to make all this happen.

All three of our dogs come from rescues out of Amish puppy mills in Ohio.

This guy is really a HERO & as kind as he is I bet he is tuff as nails too. My Grandma was Amish untill she married my Grandfather. The Amish in Pa is as bad as you get for puppy mills. He is in the heart of it. I wish I lived closer because he or some of the other great people would have all my free time. The Amish is & can be a very closed group (my family is shuned) & they think there is nothing wrong with puppy mills. The dogs have a terrible life. A lot of good & wonderful people have been trying to stop it for years.

It’s nice to hear good news for a change. This guy is a hero and I’m glad he’s involved with animal rescue. I’ll bet he’s made a difference for a whole lot of dogs and cats. Wish we could clone him!

You have to love anyone that lives on jelly bellies and chocolate milk !

Judy - contact your local Animal Welfare Dept. Usually they are run by County, but some areas are city to city. They can help inspect and shut down the mill. their records should be public, so you can see what they found on the inspection, unless it’s bad enough that they imediatly go into a lawsuit action.

Boy this is great news I only wish there were more people like this man.

I would love to contact this place, does anyone know how to turn in someone who is running a puppy mill? I know of one in a different state and I am not sure how that works.

Nancy G…I was wonder the same thing about that other breed rescue. I work with a nation-wide breed rescue and we take in dogs with heart murmurs and other health defects. We would never reject a dog b/c of an imperfect ear!

I wish there were more people out there like Bill. I have seen those billboards in PA and I know they are making a difference. At least, people are taking notice.
