Pet Dog Kills Owner
Warning: This story may disturb some readers.
An 63-year-old Indiana woman was mauled by one of her two chow mixes. The one-year-old dog bit the woman in the arm and then bit her in the throat after she fell to the ground. The woman suffered a total of eight bites, and she bled to death from her wounds. At the family’s request, both dogs will be seized and euthanized.

I’m always amazed when a pet owner is hurt, mauled etc. by their dog. I’d like to know the dynamics of the relationship to understand what happened. Something sure went wrong.

& why did they kill both dogs when only one was involved in the attack?

I am saddened by the death of the woman and both her dogs. That said, I’d like to point out that so many pitbulls get a bad rap for hurting, maiming or killing people - this just proves that other dogs are dangerous too. In fact, any animal can hurt or kill a person under the right circumstances.

Dogs will not attack for no reason…I wonder if this was a chained/abused/neglected dog. It is sad that someone died but sadder because there was a reason it was brought on and that another innocent dog was killed as a result.
Some people do not deserve to have pets.

The family is vindictive and vengeful in insisting that both dogs be killed. If this woman was anything like the rest of her family, then her death isn’t much of a loss. She probably abused the dogs till they turned…as far as I’m concerned, she probably got what she deserved.
