Every single vet in this country MUST have a license to BE a vet .
The state that wants money and the damned AVMA sure know where to find the vets when they want the dinero for the dues, right?

On top of insulting the intelligence of every grieving pet parent on a daily farking basis for months and then topping it off with an unseemly group grope session with the FDA and the PFI, people who cannot figure out to get on TV and say, "Crap, we have pets dying in the thousands from poison and we have lost our list of the vets phone numbers, yo, if you are a vet, if you know a vet, PHONE HOME!" do not have the smarts to trim a dogs toenails.

Like the Hills pet poisoners did not know how to reach the vets-HAH!

CATHY: One thing was clear when this mess began — the AMVA has no way of disseminating information to vets across the country. What kind of organization can call itself professional and not be able to communicate with its members, quickly and efficiently.

OH THEY TALK WITH THEIR OWN MEMBERS, YESSIREE.

Oh, sorry, they can’t, they might have gotten sued for saving lives if they were honest about what happened.

BINGO CATHY. THEY DON'T WANT TO BE THE DOG THAT BARKS TO ALERT THE PUBLIC TO THE PETFOOD MURDERS

CATHY; Sounds like the AMVA invited alot of VIPs to their party. Maybe they should have invited some REAL people - the ones who keep them in business

AMEN. AND MAYBE *WE* SHOULD FIND OURSELVES SOME REAL ANIMAL HEALTH ADVOCATES. NOW THAT WE KNOW THE SCORE. THEY DO EXIST. NO ONE SHOULD BELIEVE THE AVMA IS ALLKNOWING AND ALTRUISTIC.

A.C. :He thinks the AVMA acted EFFICIENTLY? As A PLAYER FOR THE PUBLIC?

DAVE: 100% ON TARGET IMO
It is sad that as/when and after the recall, people were encouraged by the various vet associations to visit their vet if they had questions about proper pet nutrition or to discuss what to feed. [P U K E H E R E]

I am sure 1,000’s of people were advised to now buy pet food from their vet

YOU BET YOUR EFFING SOCKS THEY WERE. YOU'VE GOT THE PICTURE!

(even though vet$ had to call client$ to recall some of their food$). I still don’t understand how most vet$ can possibily believe that a dry kibble food can be healthy for a pet.

WELL THE WORD IS NOW GETTING OUT. OUR PETS HAVE PAID WITH THEIR LIVES FOR THIS OUTRAGE. AND VET$ HAVE CRIED ALL THE WAY TO THE BANK.

It is sad when some people promise to look after our pets, receive a Dr. designation, use the words “forthcoming” and “trust” but know so little about what healthy nutrition is really all about.

BRAVO BRAVO

A fish rots from the head down and so we know where the problem starts.

INDEED WE DO AND THE STINK HAS REACHED PETOWNERS ALL ACROSS AMERICA. NEXT TIME THEY THROW OUT A HOOK, OH, SAY, VACCINES THAT CAUSE SARCOMA AT THE INJECTION SITE OR ARE BEING [15 YRS AFTER THE FACT] INVESTIGATED FOR ANIMALS DEVELOPING ANTIBODIES TO THEIR OWN ORGANS..............

JUST SAY HELL NO.

GOOD POSTS.

Barbara Powers, president of the American Association of Veterinary Laboratory Diagnosticians said that more lab work could have been completed and it also could have been done at a faster rate. But the problem is that there isn’t a way to fund that. She suggested that there be financial resources created to get lab results quickly in emergencies.

THERE WASN'T A WAY TO FUND THAT BECAUSE THE AVMA, LIKE THE FDA, IS A WHOLLY OWNED SUBSIDIARY OF INDUSTRY GREED AND CORRUPTION.

WHY ON EARTH WOULD THE AVMA FUND LAB TESTS TO PROTECT ANIMALS? ONLY SOMEONE WITH A MOTIVE AND DESIRE TO HELP WOULD DO THIS. THE AVMA IS A PACK OF FILTHY PROFITEERS GETTING RICH OFF SICK ANIMALS. EASY TO SEE THAT ANIMALS MUST CONTINUE TO GET SICK, IN ORDER TO KEEP THEIR COFFERS FULL.

Duane Ekedahl, executive director of the Pet Food Institute, said most consumers still trust their pet foods and haven’t lost faith in them. When Ekedahl was asked if manufacturers should be more detailed on their labels of where their ingredients are from and if US pet companies should stop importing products from China, he responded: “I don’t believe that those ideas (are) practical, not in our world economy.”

NOTHING IS MORE DANGEROUS THAN A PROPAGANDIST WHO BELIEVES THE PROPAGANDA. BUT I'D HARDLY GIVE DRAINO EVEN THAT MUCH CREDIT. LYING BAG OF BARF.

Dr. Stephen Sundlof, director of the Center for Veterinary Medicine at the FDA said, “We tried to be as forthcoming as we could. But at times, the public and the press didn’t realize we also could only offer so much information while we were in the midst of investigations.”

IS THAT INVESTIGATIONS OR - AHEM- $$$CONSULTATIONS W YOUR INDUSTRY PIMPS

=The new incoming president of the AVMA, Dr. Gregory Hammer, said, “I’m pleased with how efficiently the AVMA dealt with the pet food recall. We were a player for the public and the professionals seeking the latest factual information.”=

WHOA! Is this for real? Hammerhead is PLEASED? He thinks the AVMA acted EFFICIENTLY? As A PLAYER FOR THE PUBLIC?

I’m stunned. How he can say that and not choke is way, way beyond me. The AVMA didn't act for the public, or for the pets their organization supposedly cares so much about. I read post after post of frustrated and despairing vets searching desperately for info that might help save sick and dying animals.

The AVMA let all their stakeholders down, from the pets to the owners to those on the front-line of this horrible catastrophe. How they get off being “pleased” by their (in-) actions is inconceivable.

I am appalled and disgusted with all this backslapping and self-congratulatory behavior, and sickened at the lack of regard shown to bereaved pet owners and still-suffering pets. My need for an honest apology from someone, ANYONE, and my rage at the ever-increasingly clear contempt for pet-owners by those in the industry is becoming well-nigh unbearable.

Maybe the link to this thread should be emailed to the AVMA, so they can see EXACTLY how impressed we all are?

Maybe that would be a help to the poor confudddled things?
Perhaps an investigation on how brain damage results from too much exposure to the PFI and the FDA would be in order?

Hey Duane where are all these consumers you speak of? I don't trust any pet food company and when I spoke to my vet last night neither did she. In fact she referred to buying pet food as a crap shoot.

This bunch seems to all have their heads up their butts.

Dr. Hammer must have gotten hit on the head one too many times. Way to pat yourself on the back for a bad job. But that's how corporate America works these days. They think that if they tell everyone what a good job they're doing, everyone will believe them.

Sounds like the AMVA invited alot of VIPs to their party. Maybe they should have invited some REAL people - the ones who keep them in business - and ask their opinion of how 'efficient' they were rather than talking out their butts.

In the words of our President: "Great Job Hammerhead."

Many individual vets did a great job during this crisis. But their PR organization, just like the PFI did NOTHING to help. All their Happy Talk makes me ill. Or maybe I just ate some contaminated food.

Next thing you know you'll be reading: Poison food actually good for pets!
