Pet Parrot Imitates Alarm, Saves Family From Fire
Parrots are known for their intelligence. But Peanut, an Amazon parrot, is also known for his heroism.
Peanut alerted his family of a fire in their Indiana home by imitating the sound of a smoke alarm.
Shannon Conwell and his son fell asleep on the couch while watching a movie, but Conwell woke up to the sound of a smoke alarm. The alarm was actually Peanut imitating the fire alarm in their house.
“He was really screaming his head off,” said Conwell.
The family had gotten Peanut six months ago, and Conwell said the parrot was able to imitate any sound or word he heard. Everyone including Peanut got out of the house safely.
Conwell credits Peanut for saving their lives.

These birds are far more intelligent and comprehensive that most people give them credit for. They are definetely very sensitive, caring and feeling creatures.

I hope that bird gets all the seeds and treats he wants for his bravery. He deserves it.
