Lets lock him in a room for couple of weeks w/a small bowl of water, no food and no air conditioning and see how long he lasts - oh and make sure the temperature is the same as he let those poor creatures bake in too! Or we could just lock him up inside a car but he'd not have a bathroom, but so what....

this just brings to mind the pee wee herman movie where he runs into a burning pet shop to save all the animals and comes out last with the snakes and faints... even pee wee who hated snakes saved them.

if you don't know how to care for them yourself you shouldn't be allowed to sell them. most reptiles require specialized care and to be honest few people who acquire them( mostly ' because they're cool' )really know how to properly care for them( example: mr. i got drunk and tried to see how far a could get a poisonous snake down my throat). sadly most of the people i knew in the late 80s early 90s, the highpoint of reptile as goth/alternative fashion acccessory before ferrets took over, ended up neglecting them. i was involved in one particularly tragic ' intervention' involving a cruel , abusive reptile hoarder. i personally took all the completely freaked out mammals and birds in this freak's liar but having no desire to raise tarantulas and boas i left them to others.

frankly i think it's inappropriate in most cases to have such things as 'pets' in tiny glass boxes -it seems abusive in it's own right.but such is human nature in it's endless pursuit of controlling other life forms and calling it ' appreciation' .

And this dispicable creature owns a pet shop, of all things.

And to think there was a time when I thought everyone who owned a pet shop was in the business because they loved pets.

I wish cops would make it a point to swing by pet shops in their neck of the woods. They shouldn't have to do this. But it seems like it's time to start putting the unscrupulous pet shop owners out of business.

this is unimaginable. think for a few moments what it must have been like to be one of those animals, starving and baking in that store, with all the other animals dying around them. nightmarish.

i hope that he serves jail time, preferably in high summer, and that the guards "get lazy" and forget to allow him eat for awhile... not long enough to starve him, but long enough for him to be truly hungry. oh, and i hope some reptile bites the livin crap out of him someday too... preferably a venomous one.

When we had at home pets, like lizards, snakes, and tarantulas, we always arranged for someone to come in and at least make sure the heater or A/C was on. Twice a day.
This was a person's business and I bet if the "merchandise" had been computers or some other high dollar items, he would have made sure the A/C was working.
The lack of common sense, lack of conscience, and lack of empathy for other creatures that cognizant (or supposedly so) humans display has ceased to amaze me. Now I almost expect it as the norm. Sad thing to say, isn't it.
