Arnold just signed the bill that allows someone to get a restraining order to help a pet that might be the focus of domestic violence. Not sure of how it works or who can file, or even if it applies to the Spears current situation, but I do know that in CA the SPCA has guaranteed shelter for the animals while things are being worked out. I see pictures of her holding a dog while she's driving. Stupid. Hazardous. Anyone have any idea what happens to a pet in the driver's arms if that car is broadsided? We're talking about the pet going ballistic and flying through the air for a long distance, often coming to the point of rest dead. While I am not always a fan of PETA, I'm a little tired of people bashing them all the time. Quite counterproductive to the rescue movement. Especially when propogating misinformation from websites who have agendas to make animal welfare groups look bad. Whether you like PETA or not, mainstream people will often lump animal welfare people in with groups like PETA. When you bash them, you might as well be bashing all animal groups from a mainstream perspective. You may not like being lumped in with them, but that's the reality of it.
